Term 1 Week 5 W A L A W A A N I N J I N D I W A A N Principal Report Term 2 Week 1 2019 WHAT WAS SO GREAT THIS WEEK Welcome back to the new term, I hope everyone was able to have an enjoyable holiday. It was fabulous to see students from our school giving up some of their holiday, to get back into their school uniform, and join us in marching with our school at the ANZAC Day march. It is so important that our children take the time to remember our Veterans and the wonderful job they do in protecting our freedom and way of life. Thank you to the parents who brought their children to the march. SCHOOL DROP OFF AND PICK Parents need to be aware that when they are dropping their children off at school in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon that the no parking signs need to be followed. A number of local residents have approached the school and asked that parents not to pull up or park in front of driveways. There is no parking allowed in the drop off zone and there is also no stopping in the bus zone, even if you are waiting to enter the drop off zone, please drive around the block and come back. Thank you to all those par- ents who have been using our drop off zone appropriately. We want to ensure the safety of all students and when we all follow the rules it reduces the chance of accidents. DANCE2BFIT This term our students will be participating in the dance to be fit program that will culminate in our students performing at a concert at the end of the term. Thank you to those parents who have been able to make payment for this program, if you haven’t had a chance to do so yet you are still able to make payments anytime throughout this term. Parents who have made payment will be allocated tickets to the performance at the end of this term. Any seats that remain unfilled will be offered for sale to others who wish to attend. Further details regarding the allocation of tickets will be given later in the term. STUDENTS BRINGING TOYS TO SCHOOL There seems to be a rising trend of students bringing toys to school, some of these toys can be quite expensive. Any toys brought to school are done so the owners risk. I would encourage parents not to let their child bring special, important or expensive toys to school because if they are broken the school takes no responsibility. Belinda Doyle (Principal) Thought for the week. If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.
