A Visual & Performing Arts School
Hello Families;
Thank you for your con-tinued support of our school hours. Students need to be dropped off no earlier at the school than
7:45. There is no supervision for your child until that time. Please remember that our daily schedule will also be changing next year to 8:00 am. Thank you for making the accommodations for the change in schedule.
As we are receiving report cards this week, please celebrate your child’s success as well as encourage them to focus on their areas of im-provement. Please remember that you should be looking at your stu-dent’s grades through the parent por-tal to keep updated through the year. We look forward to a wonderful third trimester!
Have a great week,
Kari Nichols, Interim Principal [email protected]

These students were at school and on time every day and each received a special prize: Angel Gomez, Hunter Ponce, Jason Peyton, Isaiah Herrerra, Jacob Burkhart, Hayden Bennett, Mariah Mayorga, Leala Harmon, Kristina Kalchik, and Karyna Vladymtseva.
The Perfect Attendance Class Awards go to Ms. Brovald and Mrs. Swank’s classes. Congratulations!!! They had the highest percentage of students with perfect attendance in their class. Great job Carriage stu-dents!!!
You too can earn a prize. Be here on time every day in a month and your name will be entered into a drawing to win! Attendance is the key to academic success!
Karen Sanders, Attendance Clerk
Spring Picture Day! Lifetouch will be here on Friday, March 20th for spring pictures. All students will be photo-graphed individually and
by class. Flyers for background choices will be sent home with stu-dents prior to picture day. Send no money now. Portrait packages will be sent home for review approximate-ly 3 weeks after picture day and you will be able to purchase the package of your choice. There are NO re-takes for this picture day. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office at 916-971-5241. Thanks!
The average child gets less than 15 minutes a day of vigorous physi-
cal activity. Help your youngster achieve the recommended 60 minutes every day by keeping track. Hang a calendar on the kitchen wall, and have each person write in the physical ac-tivities they did that day (walked the dog, played football).
Breakfast Time Change for 2020/2021
Carriage Elementary will be making a change to our daily school schedule for the 2020-21 school year.
Several years ago when Citrus Heights School combined with Car-riage Elementary, the breakfast pro-gram began at 7:30 am to assist with the transition requiring an hour of supervision. (Our district is facing budget cuts so the funding for this program is no longer provided.) The majority of Citrus Heights schools begin morning breakfast and supervi-sion 30 minutes before school.
Beginning with the start of school in August 2020, Carriage will open its doors for breakfast and supervision at 8:00 am. This means no students can be dropped off before 8:00 am.
Thank you for making accommo-dations for the change in schedule.
Carriage Reads! Congratulations to the
winners of the Second Trimester Reading Contest. The following classes won with the most words read:
Ms. Adicoff 6,487,710 words read
Ms. Yund 3,702,947 words read
Ms. Chambers with 1,366,036
First Grade read 16,200 Books.
There will be a celebration for our excellent readers on Friday!
We will honor February students on March 27th. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Assembly #1—9:45 am Grades AMK, 4th & 5th
