Dear Lindbergh Families,
Happy New Year to all of our Lindbergh families! I hope that all of you enjoyed a restful winter break with
your students. It was great to see so many of you at parent/teacher conferences this month. We realize that
you took time out of your busy schedules to attend. The partnership that our Lindbergh team has with our
families is extremely important to student success. Research shows that parent and school partnerships
have a dramatic influence on student success. Additionally, our Lindbergh community appreciates
everyone that has already turned in the parent input surveys. We recognize the value of your feedback as
we are continually striving to improve our roles. Please send in the surveys by February 6 th.
Open enrollment allows Arizona students to attend a public school outside their attendance area or district.
Mesa Public Schools offers many choices in education and welcomes open enrollment students from within
district or outlying districts. Applications are available in school offices and at www.mpsaz.org. For any
application submitted before March 1, the student will be notified of the acceptance decision by April 1. If
accepted, the school requests confirmation within two weeks that the student will attend. The first criteria
for acceptance is available capacity. The names of applicants who are not accepted will be placed on a
waiting list. Applications are accepted after March 1 and will be added to the wait list should enrollment
restrict acceptance. All students currently attending Lindbergh on open enrollment need to submit a new
application for the 2017/2018 school year.
Mesa Public Schools has launched Peachjar, a new electronic flier communication tool. Fliers will be
delivered to the email address you have on file with us in the front office, or you are able to view them by
clicking the Peachjar button that is on Lindbergh’s website. This environmental initiative will save our
school paper and reduce copy costs. To ensure delivery, we suggest you add [email protected] to your
email contacts. When you receive your first flier email, be sure to click “always display images.”
Please review these rules with your students if you allow your them to carry a cell phone.
1. All cell phones must be turned off upon arrival at the school grounds.
2. Cell phones are put away in a backpack. Cell phones are never out or in use while a student is on
campus.
3. If a student is observed using a cell phone or if it rings on campus it will be confiscated and given to
the principal.
4. A parent will be required to come to school to pick up the phone.
5. The school is not responsible for cell phone theft or damage.
6. A student may receive discipline consequences for not following this policy.
Respectfully,
Principal, Thomas Heminger

I was born and raised here in Arizona, however most of my family is from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I attended Chandler Gilbert Community College where I received an Associates in Business in 2012. I took time off from school to work in the Solar Industry for a few years in the Phoenix Metro and Prescott area, until I decided to transfer my credit to Arizona State University and start my career in education. I began class at ASU in the fall of 2016 for my undergraduate in Elementary Education with a Math STEM field. I'm expecting to graduate by 2018. I want to eventually teach between 5th and 8th grade. Family is a big inspiration for why I chose to get involved in education. My father teaches Social Studies and World History at Desert Mountain High School in the Scottsdale School District, and my uncle is a Professor in Sports Medicine at the University of Illinois. I am an only child, I tend to spend my free time rock climbing around Echo Canyon or South Mountain when it's not blistering hot outside. My favorite food is Sushi. I want to someday go kayaking in the Colorado Whitewater rapids.

escuela. ¡Vamos hacerlo una prioridad!
