Principal’s Message
Recently the school participated in a student attendance audit by the Home School Liaison Officer.
As part of this attendance monitoring procedure, the school is required to remind all families that
the Education Act (1990) requires parents to ensure that children of compulsory school age attend
school each day that the school is open for instruction. If children are absent from school,
parents/carers are required to provide the school with an acceptable explanation within seven days
of the absence. If your child is too sick for school please contact the school written note as soon as
possible. This also includes ensuring appointments are made out of school time where possible. It is
important to encourage good attendance as this has a positive effect on learning.
