Principals Report – Week 6, Term 2
Great Debate
On Tuesday, June 4th, the four primary schools within theNorthern Beaches Community of Schools; Woolgoolga, SandyBeach, Corindi and Mullaway competed in the annual GreatDebate.
Mullaway Primary School's team consisted of Leo, Carolyn,Yasmin and Eva who had all fine-tuned their debating skillsover the last few weeks during the weekly non-competitveinter-school debating challenge.
On the day of the Great Debate, all schools debated each otherin a round robin format with the team accruing the most pointson the day being declared the eventual winner of the GreatDebate.
Mullaway won their first debate against Woolgoolga as thenegative team with the topic; that schools should spend moretime on health and fitness to reduce child obesity.
In the second debate Mullaway lost against Corindi as theaffirmative team with the topic; that boys and girls should beeducated separately.
In the final debate of the day, Mullaway narrowly lost to SandyBeach, again as the affirmative team with the topic; that moneyis everybody’s best friend.
The competition between the four schools in 2019 was theclosest in many years and Corindi were the eventual winners ina countback.
Well done to our Mullaway debating team and to our fournon-debaters; Tristan, Billy, Seeana and Corrie who assisted onthe day as timekeepers and chairpersons.
Thank you to Mr. Skinner, our debating coordinator for hostinga very successful day!

This multi-sensory approach to learning uses both sidesof the brain and has proven to benefit learning outcomes incognitive and in gross motor skills. Students have been veryengaged throughout the program and have really enjoyedworking with different parents and helpers, who have beenfantastic!
This program's success is only possible with the help ofvolunteers, so thank you to everyone who has been assistingwith the sessions in both Grevillea and Lorikeets! Please

Winter Sports Carnival - Canteen
MPS is required to run a canteen for the PSSA Netball carnivalon Friday 21st June 2019. Jess and Lex are already on schoolcanteen that day, but I was wondering if anyone was in aposition to volunteer for a shift? At this stage I’ve got ScottEnsbey helping out with the BBQ (thanks Scott), and I’ll bethere to help run the canteen. I don’t really know how thisusually works so it’d be great to have some people who havedone it before to show me the ropes.
