I have just started out by drawing boxes where I want the main things to go because I want to write the text first so I have drawn where the images are going to go

I am deciding certain fronts to have for the word contents. I am trying to choose one that will fit in with the genre of my magazine and I also want it to appeal to both genders

At the bottom I have decided to have subscription offer as I am a new magazine I need to build a loyal audience as from previous research I have found that your recurring audience is very important. I am choosing different font types and font sizes the grab the eye of different section of the offer. I need the word subscribe and the amount to stand out a lot more than the rest.

I am now starting to build up the contents within the page, I have decided to keep with the colours of red white and black and it’s my colour scheme and this show consistency throughout. I have don’t the main line in red so it grabs the audiences eye more against the white

I am putting in the page numbers in the boxes where the images are going to go. I am keeping them the say colour however making the one on the main image bigger to make it more eye grabbing and visible to the audience

I have changed the price of my subscription fee as from looking at other magazines for example for NME for a year it is £83.99. This has made me realise that my price is too cheap even though it is a new magazine it is still too cheap so I have changed it to £25

When I was developing the subscription box I made the box dimmer so it’s not too much of a distraction. I have made it the same colour as the number boxes as from looking at other magazines like Q they have kept their colour of the red throughout their magazine so I have taken this and applied it to mine.

Here I am experimenting with the position of the masthead of ‘contents’ as when it to the left there was a gap on the right that wasn’t filled so I am playing around with the composition to see what works better on the pages

I am also experimenting with the size of the text before I didn’t want it to be over powering however now looking at other magazine and the masthead it big and I have extra space around I needed it to be bigger

I have placed an image of my tittle on my cover that I have exported from home. I have placed this on my cover because looking at other contents pages that I have got inspiration from like Q and NME they all have a similar thing.

I am now starting to place other graphic features that I have taken on the contents page to fit in with a few of the big stories. I am cropping and resizing the photos so it can fit in the box and look professional.

Before my writing was black and now that I have placed the graphic feature in the box the writing is not visible, so I have changed the colour to white so it can be read.

I am placing one of the photos of my model that I have previously taken to go in the contents page for a graphic feature working as a teaser for the audience, offering a little bit more to them and they can see what they can expect in an article. I need to resize the image to make sure it all can fit in and so it looks professional.

Because of the photo the writing is hard to read. I have experimented with different font colours like black and white but because of the different colour sin the picture it still isn’t visible. I have tried different placements of the line however I feel it doesn’t work as well as it original position. So I have placed a white box behind the writing I feel this is the best option as because it is the main article it helps it standout more.

I am now placing more graphic features that I have taken to my page in the boxes, I am making sure that all of the pictures relate to both my magazine and to my stories in the magazine.

I have now placed the final picture on my contents page. I have had to move the text box to a higher place because I didn’t want it blocking my picture. I have also places a black box over the white writing as it was hard to read certain parts of the text however I have put it in a box because I didn’t want it to standout too much I wanted it to blend in.
