RESERVATIONS: Your group reservation is guaranteed when we receive a signed confirmation sheet with a credit card number to hold the date (regardless of final payment method). The number of guests must be guaranteed 72 hours in advance of your reservation or the original number confirmed will be charged. Final payment is due upon completion of the event.

DEPOSITS: To reserve your space, we require a credit card number with a signed contract. We will not charge the credit card until the day of the event, unless specified otherwise. For restaurant buy-outs we do require a paid 50% deposit. Gordon Biersch reserves the right to require a deposit for any group. Deposits are non-refundable.

THE HOLIDAYS: During the holiday season, due to increased demand for large parties, there will be a two week cancellation policy. If a party cancels less than two weeks before the event, 50% of the total will be charged.

PRIVATE ROOMS: To reserve a private room/space, there is a food and beverage minimum purchase. The prices quoted do not include sales tax or service fee, which are presented on the final bill. All food and beverages must be charged on one check.

ROOM & TABLE ARRANGEMENTS: We will do our best to accommodate your group in the space preferred by your group although we do reserve the right to relocate your group to a more appropriate area should your expected attendance significantly change.

MENU: In order for us to provide you with the best service possible, we request large parties to use one of our group menus. We will be happy to accommodate special vegetarian or dietary needs. Your menu must be finalized one week in advance of your event.

GUARANTEE: We ask that you guarantee your final guest count 72 hours in advance, which is the count your billing will be based on.

SERVICE FEES: A service charge equal to 3% of the food and beverage charges will be added to the final bill. This service charge is not a tip or gratuity for the servers and will not be paid out to them. Gordon Biersch welcomes all major credit cards, cash or company checks.

GRATUITY: In order to be fully compliant with the IRS’ position regarding tips and gratuities, Gordon Biersch does not automatically impose a gratuity on your final bill. The decision to pay a gratuity to the staff providing service to the event, and the amount thereof, is at the reserving party’s sole discretion. Reserving party will have the opportunity to fill in a gratuity percentage on the contract, requesting the banquet provider to include such gratuity percentage on the check presented at the end of the event. This percentage will be distributed in its entirety to the non-managerial servers who staffed the event.

MUSIC: In addition to our in-house music selection, we have available a wide range of musical style bands and djs through our booking agent. This is for restaurant buy-outs only.

LIGHT & REFRESHING: Our golden export is the perfect example of this style…a clean, crisp, refreshing lager with subtle bready malt characters balanced by noble hops. You may also see Kölsch, English Summer Ale and American Blonde Ale in this category.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Light and refreshing beers are cleansing and complementary. Try with seafood, salads, lighter fare, pizza and flatbreads.

MALTY: Beers that highlight the sweet, caramel, toffee and nutty characteristics of malted barley. Märzen is auburn-hued with a smooth caramel malt finish and is our malty flagship, as well as our best selling beer of all time. Other malty brews include Blonde Bock, Maibock, Belgian Dubbel and Irish Red.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Malty beers are also the perfect companion to almost all foods in that they offer great balance, support many flavor profiles and will cool spicy heat. Great with pizza as well as roasted, grilled and smoked foods, meats and poultry, burgers and spice.

FRUITY & SPICY: Unique flavors from fermentation are the hallmark of this category. Fruits such as apples, bananas, cherries and oranges can be combined with spices of pepper, cloves and coriander. Hefeweizen is our classic example. You can also expect belgian styles like Wit, Saison, Strong Blonde and Pale.

FOOD PAIRINGS: This beer style is a great choice to complement and balance flavors that are similar to those in the beers. Pair with poultry, lighter meats, salads, fruit-driven sauces or chutneys and more robust seafood dishes.

DARK: Beers that derive their dark color and flavors of chocolate and coffee from the use of roasted malts. Schwarzbier is Gordon Biersch’s classic example. Other dark varieties include Dunkel, Bock, Brown Ale, Porter and Stout.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Dark beers are wonderfully complementary to food flavors. Try with grilled meats, steaks, smoked foods, shellfish and oysters. Dark beers also go well with chocolate contrasts such as coffee and desserts.

NOTHING GOES BETTER WITH FOOD THAN BEER. There are so many possibilities when seeking out great pairings to complement, contrast, balance or emphasize the various flavor components of both beer and food. The carbonation and acidity of beer help to cleanse the palate, while the malt backbone of beer makes it the perfect complement to enjoy with a wide variety of foods. A good starting point for creating a great pairing is to consider the beer styles we offer and types of foods you enjoy.

HOPPY: Beers that emphasize the contribution of the hop flower. They are higher in bitterness with accentuated spicy, fruity, herbal, floral or piney aromas. Czech Pilsner is our classic example. Other popular hoppy brews include English Pale Ale, American Pale Ale and IPA. FOOD PAIRINGS: Hoppy beers tend to emphasize certain flavors in foods and can also be the balancing act in certain dishes. Spicy foods, roasted pork and poultry are classic pairings.
