A spring, a sponge, a rubber band, a pail of water, a Petri-dish, a test tube, a conical flask, a beaker of water.

Procedures / Methods1. You are given with several apparatus as in

the picture below.

2. Identify the science apparatus and label it as A for the beaker, B for the test tube, and C for the Petri-dish and D for the conical flask.

3. Observed the things to identify the specific characteristics of each substances and apparatus given.

3. Squeeze the sponge.

4. Pull and stretch the spring.

5. Put the rubber-band into a beaker of water.

6. Pour some of the water in the pail into a beaker, a Petri-dish, a test tube and a conical flask.

9. Record your observations in the space provided.

A glass rod, 500 ml beaker, coloring liquid, double sided tape, 3 types of paper ( old newspaper paper, A4 paper, box paper )

1. Set the apparatus as shown in picture.

2. Attach paper strips P, Q and R to the glass rod as shown in the diagram.

3. Immerse the ends of the paper strips into the liquid in the beaker.

4. Start your stopwatch immediately for a period of 1 minute.

5. record your observation.
