AHDX IAH AHG

Indirect Fired

Air Heaters

Gun Style Air Heaters

AHDX air heaters are designed to be inserted right into your process ductwork. The burner in our AHDX units uses the oxygen present in the process air stream for combustion, eliminating the need for an additional combustion air source. AHDR units are designed for process streams with low oxygen content and feature a combustion blower.

Our IAH units are designed to heat your process stream without contamination by the products of combustion. The IAH unit is offered in thermal efficiencies from 72 to 90%, depending upon the application.

AHG units are ideal for process air streams with low oxygen content or entrained dirt and which require larger mass flows, higher temperatures, fuel oil operation or any combination thereof. The AHG unit is available in gas only, oil only, or combination gas/oil configuration and with low-emission burners, depending upon your needs.

AHDW

Low Emissions Duct Air

Heaters

Our AHDW system is a brilliantly simple design, which accomplishes the goal of low emission without high temperature refractory lined chambers and expensive and complicated gas/air ratio sensors and controls. It is durable, easy to adjust and provides great repeatability requiring nothing but regular PMs.

Tundish Dryers/ Dryer-Preheaters/ Preheaters

TUNDISH EQUIPMENT

Our ladle dryers feature high air recirculation rates to promote fast even drying at lower temperatures; whereas, our preheaters are designed to fire on-ratio for most efficient fuel consumption, while achieving high preheat temperatures. The dryer-preheaters are designed with a large burner to achieve the high temperatures required for preheating, but with rapid air recirculation at lower temperatures for fast, uniform drying. Horizontal or vertical firing arrangements as well as lift-off/portable units or tilt-style units are available.

Our tundish equipment is very similar to our ladle equipment in that the dryer is used for fast and even drying at low temperatures, the preheater is used to achieve high preheat temperatures and the dryer-preheater is used for high preheat temperatures and fast, uniform drying. Vertical tilt-top arrangements as well as lift-off/portable units are available with our tundish dryers/ dryer-preheaters/ preheaters.

Sow Dryers/ Preheaters

SOW EQUIPMENT

Stelter & Brinck, Ltd. scrap preheaters dry and preheat simultaneously. These units are designed to fit on top of material conveyors designed for use with a preheater. These units are completely self contained and feature high turn down, high velocity burner systems to provide high air flow rates for drying and high energy to drive the heat into the load. Stelter & Brinck scrap preheaters provide increased throughput by supplying a hot charge for melting.

Stelter & Brinck aluminum sow dryers/ preheaters are available in two versions; a lift-off portable unit that can be moved to new plant locations with ease and a dual station, fixed location model. Both models are custom designed to fit your sow geometry and load requirements. Sow dryers provide a dry charge and the production advantages of preheating.

Thermal Fume Oxidizer with Heat

Recovery or without Heat Recovery

TFO-HX / TFO

Our TFO units are complete with controls and offer the utmost convenience with pre-wired and pre-piped assembly. Stelter & Brinck thermal oxidizers are designed to be easy to use and install. The TFO is ideal for applications of less than 40% LEL. These units are designed take advantage of the high-energy contribution of concentrated streams. Applications of less than 25% LEL can benefit from our energy savings TFO-HX.

CFO/ CFO-HX AFTERBURNER

Catalytic Fume Oxidizer Afterburner

Our CFO units are your best option if your VOC laden airstream is free of potential catalyst fouling agents or poisons. These units use a noble metal catalyst monolith to destroy the VOC fumes. Because the catalytic units use a lower temperature airstream for effective VOC destruction, these units use less fuel and cost less to operate than thermal oxidizers. Our catalytic units include heat recovery as a standard feature and are ideal for applications of less than 20% LEL. Secondary heat recovery is available to provide hot air for use elsewhere in the process or facility.

The afterburner is a thermal oxidizer that provides the lowest capital investment. Stelter & Brinck afterburners are ideal for air streams with corrosive chemicals and high opacity air streams containing smoke and strong odors. Lower airflows and high temp airflows are also candidates for VOC removal with an afterburner. Our afterburners provide up to a 99+% destruction efficiency.

System Integration.

Skidded Integrated Packaged System

SKIDDED

Stelter & Brinck skidded integrated packaged systems can save you weeks and months of installation and commissioning time. The system above includes 5 blowers, 2 AHG heaters, system fresh air inlet with filters, motor control center for the entire process, heat recovery heat exchangers and full system controls including transmitters and transducers. The package was custom designed by Stelter & Brinck for a catalyst manufacturer's newest production facility. Testing of all components and test-firing of the air heaters was done in our plant prior to shipment, thus making a very quick installation and plant start up possible.

MODULAR

Modular Integrated Packaged System

Our modular integrated packaged systems allow us to consolidate more than one skidded system. Multiple integrated skids are built to easily interconnect making the total system installation quick and start-up easy. The module above is one of seven integrated skids built by S&B, which comprised a mobile chemical weapons destruction system. When our customers transfer engineering, design, fabrication, test fire and field start up responsibilities to us, they can expand their ability to focus on their core business. Preserve your company's or your client's resources by allowing us to provide you with modular integrated systems.

OVENS AND FURNACES OVEN AND FURNACE CONVERSIONS

Stelter & Brinck ovens and furnaces are ideally suited for higher temperature operations or in environments that require extra heavy-duty construction. Among the most common applications are heat treating metals, aging aluminum, and drying and curing refractory. Our long history and vast experience in the process heat and combustion industry ensures S&B customers that the oven or furnace they purchase is not only up to construction standards, but of the highest quality and easy to use. Our flexibility of design, attention to detail, and integrity mean that every oven or furnace performs as promised.

Convert your costly electric oven or furnace to a more economical gas fired unit. Not only can we provide the design, the combustion equipment, safety controls, and process controls; we can also provide installation of the new system. Above is an example of a conversion by S&B: a company that heat treats steel mill rolls relied on S&B to convert their electric furnace to natural gas. We provided a turn-key conversion, designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned a radiant tube/recuperative burner system for their tilt style furnace. Since the conversion, our customer has experienced faster heat-up time and energy savings.

COMBUSION SYSTEMS

Custom designed pre-piped, pre-wired packaged combustion systems can up-date your old equipment to modern standards of safety, performance, repeatability, and reliability. Our combustion systems are designed to fit into the same space as your existing units, minimizing installation expense. They are test fired prior to shipment to make start-up trouble-free.

In-House Equipment Test Firing.

Fuel Oil/ Natural Gas/ Propane Testing

EQUIPMENT TEST FIRING

All equipment manufactured by Stelter & Brinck is tested and/or fired at the factory prior to shipment. The equipment is first subjected to an 81-point final inspection and checklist. Where feasible each unit is set for design flow rates, temperatures, etc. All safety circuits are individually tested, and the burner is lit and fired to capacity or to utility capacity. The results of all tests are recorded along with all factory limit settings, flow rates and control settings. S&B is capable of duplicating overseas power with our in-house generator and gas test firing up to 30 MM BTU/hr.
