PLANNING PARTIESPROJECT MANAGER (PM)GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT (GS)PROJECT ENGINEER (PE)HOME OFFICE (HO)EXTERNALS: Client, Design Engineers and subcontractors (SC)

15

INVOLVEMENT IN PLANNINGRows in each matrix is assigned for nine functional

plans and columns for the five participating parties

16

INVOLVEMENT IN PLANNING

17

Contd… All parties participate in planning during construction.

The general superintendent is more involved than the other participants. The site management, more involved than the home office and externals

in all three phases, is primarily involved in choice making.

The project manager's involvement gradually increases as planning

moves through information gathering to choice making.

The project engineer is mainly involved in forecasting plans.

The home office is evidently little involved, as an indication of the

growing autonomy of the construction project management on site
