MPB 1400 Timing Controlled Traffic LightsTiming Controlled LED Traffic Signal System

The MPB 1400 is a remote controlled traffic signal system, which is intended for controlling alternating one-way traffic, although signal heads may be added as required to enable the control of intersections or crossroads. The settings can be adjusted by infra-red remote, which is coded to prevent unauthorised tampering. One control can be used to program any number of signal heads.

Along with the quartz mode, it is also possible to operate the controller in manual mode, with continuous red, green or flashing yellow as a warning, and lamps off for other traffic situations when manual control may be required.

The standard version of the MPB 1400 has reverse polarity, and low voltage protection, night time dimming, data buffer, (preventing data loss when changing the battery), and commercially available halogen lamps. Fitted with LED technology for long life and minimal power consumption.

MPB 4000 Portable Traffic LightsVehicle Activated LED Portable Traffic Lights (NZTA approved)

The MPB 4000 Vehicle Activated traffic lights are suited for single lane control, T-junctions, cross roads and construction sites where there is a high volume of traffic, and are NZTA approved.

These units have:

• A range of up to 16 different frequencies thus eliminating interference from other radio transmitters.

• A built in Quartz Mode which will allow operation of this unit even in case of radio transmission failure.

• LED Technology for long life and minimal power consumption.

A compact controller can be supplied separately upon request - including the Radar Sensors & Radio Transmitters.

Care should be taken not to use when sign has a screen printed legend since this agent may also remove the sign legend. It can be used if the sign has graffiti protective overlay.

Use with real care. Using this agent may in itself create sign damage and should only be used as a last resort. Can be used with care over graffiti protective overlay.

Sign Cleaning for Maintenance Contractors

When cleaning reflective road signs use plenty of liquid to ensure that ALL residual dirt or graffiti is fully flushed off the surface. If this is not done the sign will not perform at night. It is important to understand the retroreflective road signs need to be cleaned to restore nightime performance. Merely cleaning to establish an “OK” day time appearance will not restore satisfactory night reflectivity. When cleaning it is important that the correct method is used based on the way the sign has been made. Never use abrasive cleaners. In all instances it is important that any cloth used is clean and free of dried residue and grit.

Cleaner Uses

No face pattern. Lowest cost reflective sheeting specified for use in traffic applications. Parking signs. Outdoor recreation signs. Service life exceeds 7 years.

Hexagonal (honeycomb) Pattern with “HIP” watermark and pre-printed lot number identification (eg. 3C24YP001) on the face film for tracking and authentication.

Setting Large Ground Mount Signs at 95o

when working in the field.

This is critically important in order to avoid specula glare or mirror reflection blinding an oncoming driver. It is critically important when installing PW 66 Signs that are positioned in line with the middle of the approaching lane.

Two Post Sign.

1. Make sure that the post nearest the road is set far enough away from the road

edge and place a peg to mark this posts position.

2. Verify the direction of the approaching traffic with a straight edge or shovel

handle.

3. Set a line at right angles to the straight edge.

4. Note the measurement between posts.

5. Temporarily place a second peg on the right angle line to mark the second post.

6. Shift this peg back one tenth of the distance between the two posts and then re-measure to the first post. This becomes the position of the second post.

3. Sight right angles to traffic flow.

5. Temporarily locate second post on right angle line at post width

6. Shift it back by the “one tenth” rule.

Single Post Sign. 1. After setting sign on post and before the post is fully rammed, or

cement is set, use a large builders square to point sign 5 degrees away from oncoming traffic.

2. Sight along the square and turn sign so that specula or mirror reflection will be directed into fields or neutral space.

3. If a round post has been used this can make the task of aiming the sign easier.

Sign Cleaning for Maintenance Contractors

When cleaning reflective road signs use plenty of liquid to ensure that ALL residual dirt or graffiti is fully flushed off the surface.

If this is not done sign will not perform at night. It is important to understand that retroreflective road signs need to be cleaned to restore

nighttime performance. Merely cleaning to establish an "OK" day time appearance will not restore satisfactory night reflectivity.

When cleaning it is important that the correct method is used based on the way the sign has been made. Never use abrasive cleaners

In all instances it is important that any cloth used in clean and free of dried residue and grit.

Cleaner Uses.

Water (+ a few drops of detergent) Can be used on signs made with overlay vinyls and or signs made with screen print ink.

Iso Propal Alcohol - IPA - + 50% water. Can be used on signs made with overlay vinyls and or signs made with screen print ink.

Citrus base Cleaner - available in bulk

and aerosol


Kerosene or mineral spirits. Care should be taken not to use when sign has a screen printed legend since this agent may

also remove the sign legend. It can be used if the sign has graffiti protective overlay.

Lacquer Thinners and Acetone Use with real care. Using this agent may in itself create sign damage and should only be used

(use with care) as a last resort. Can be used with care over graffiti protective overlay.
