You won’t believe how easy it is to use Shrink-Kon self-fusing insulation tape to insulate splices, terminations and connections until you try it and see for yourself. Forget the heat gun and adhesive. Just two layers of this silicone-based, self-amalgamating tape form a flexible dielectric layer that protects your connection against moisture, humidity and corrosion.

Shrink-Kon self-fusing insulation tape stands out from the competition with high tensile strength, enabling you to stretch the first layer of tape to form a solid, compressed, watertight seal, as well as high dielectric strength and abrasion resistance.

Create a moisture-proof insulating seal…

1 Cut a suitable length of tape from roll and remove easy-release liner, taking care not to allow tape to fold over onto itself.

2 Wrap a first layer of tape onto the wire or connection in half-lap fashion, stretching continuously so that tape reduces to less than three-quarters of its original width. Extend tape a minimum of 1" past any bare, non-insulated conducting surface.

3 Wrap a second layer of tape over the entire surface of the first layer with minimal to zero stretch, applying finger pressure to eliminate air voids and prevent end lifting before fusion takes place. (Only two layers of tape are required to insulate; however, process may be repeated to add additional layers if desired for increased physical or electrical strength or severe environmental applications.)
