GLOSSARYSAFETY STANDARDSThe terms below describe the governing body organizations and the technical safety standards that RCI upholds for all product design, fabrication and installation.

• ANSI - The American National Standards Institute; RCI adheres to the group of standards labeled Z359 which requires personal protective equipment be tested to indicate a minimum level of performance as dictated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

• ASTM International - American Standard for Testing and Materials; RCI adheres to F24, a body of standards that encompasses amusement rides and devices.

• CE - ‘Conformité Européenne’ or directly translated as European Conformity, this certification mark indicates conformity with health, safety and environmental protection standards for products that are sold within the European Economic Area (EEA).

• EN354 - The European Standard for Fall Protection - Lanyards; This standard details fall protection which consists of an arrangement of components that are used to protect the participant or wearer from descending too far during a fall. Single redundant slinglines are governed by these standards that dictate the requirements for Lanyards.

• EN1090 - A harmonized standard that covers structural or construction steel and aluminum products that are permanently installed.

RCI PATENTED INNOVATIONS & SAFETY FEATURES: RCI makes every effort to include the very best, latest and safest technology in our designs and employ redundant systems where applicable.

• Single Redundant Slinglines – A lanyard that connects a participant’s harness with their trolley slider assembly. The slingline uses dual webbing for redundancy and utilizes a series of webbing loops to allow for adjustment to fit each participants specific height.

• Five Point Harness - A full body harness that adjusts in the back, on the legs, as well as on the hips to create maximum security for participants who choose to experience the Sky Trail®, Sky Tykes® or Clip ‘n Climb® attractions.

• Gate System (Sky Rail™) – Ensures that only one guest can ride the Sky Rail™ at a time, that guests cannot ride the Sky Rail™ before the brake system is reset and prevents guests from walking into the landing path of guests riding the Sky Rail™.

• Passing Belay System – Overhead tracking system with column rings that allow guests to pass each other and to traverse the course in any path they choose.

• Trolley Slider Assembly – The slingline’s redundant slider assembly can only be inserted or taken out of the track at the entrance/exit of the Sky Trail® or Sky Tykes® course.

• Zig Zag Tracking – Prevents participants from sliding uncontrolled down inclines.

COMPANY PROFILERCI has been in the business of custom manufacturing, installing and servicing adventure products since 1989. Sky Trail® aerial attractions, as well as its entire family of products, are engineered for safety and designed to maximize excitement. Our U.S. patented, integrated systems allow for constant movement on the course, delivery of high throughputs, minimization of staff and an increase in the age range of participants all culminating to produce an unsurpassable revenue-generating attraction.

In 2017, RCI expanded its product line and acquired Colorado-based company, Amaze’n Mazes™, as well as partnered with New Zealand-based company, Clip ‘n Climb®, to further create the ideal adventure space. RCI proudly assumed the role of North American manufacturer of the climbing structures and gained distribution responsibilities of said structures within North and South America. The new relationships forged have allowed RCI to build upon their offering of interactive, engaging attractions that keep all ages thoroughly entertained.

Sky Trail® aerial attractions can be custom built and tailored to complement indoor as well as outdoor facilities no matter what the chosen business model is. Our unique adventure products perfectly enhance a variety of industries such as amusement parks, zoos, family entertainment centers, museums, resorts and marine ventures such as cruise ships!

The table below illustrates our recommendation for ticket price per play across industries where RCI adventure attractions thrive. The typical U.S. price is listed for each attraction followed by the price range of a ticket and finally, the price that could be tacked on if an additional product is selected to accompany the original installment. For example, a business could charge about $13 per person for a 2-level Sky Trail® with a Sky Rail™ ticket, but if they choose to add on a QuickFlight free fall device, the ticket price could increase to around $18 per person.

HIGH STANDARDS FOR SAFETYSky Trail® aerial attractions, as well as its entire family of products, are engineered to ensure the utmost safety and designed to maximize excitement.

An exceptional safety record and adherence to the ever-changing amusement industry standards separates RCI from other adventure product manufacturers. All RCI products are individually engineered and tailored to meet ASTM amusement standards in your area. RCI also complies with location-based EN 1090 standards and amusement industry certifications set forth by ADIPS (United Kingdom) and TUV (Germany). CE certified safety equipment is also attainable for European customers when appropriate. The slingline slider assembly is no exception and meets all OSHA and ANSI breaking strength requirements to guarantee participant safety as well.

PARTICIPANT SAFETY SYSTEM & OVERHEAD TRACKINGBefore each participant ventures onto a Sky Trail® or Sky Tykes®, they are properly outfitted with a full body harness and a redundant slingline. This redundant slingline is secured into the course’s continuous belay overhead tracking system. At the ground level, a certified operator appropriately connects and disconnects participants into the safety system to further optimize the safety of participants. The overhead tracking system grants participants the ability to move about the course in any direction they so choose while the safety system allows participants to self-rescue, step back on the element and continue on their adventure.

Clip ‘n Climb® utilizes the same harnesses as the Sky Trail® line of products for the connection to Head Rush Technologies TRUBLUE auto belay. These auto belays have been an industry proven leader in safety. Depending on the desires of the owner, TRUBLUE can be outfitted with a selection of connectors that each have their own unique system for reducing oversight while maintaining a high level of safety.

INSTALLATION, TRAINING & INSPECTIONSINSTALLATIONRCI offers two installation options for clients to ensure both parties are in compliance with the following: ASTM F24 Body of Standards, American Steel Construction Manual, American Welding Society D11 Weld Codes, American Society of Civil Engineers 7 Minimum Design Loads, and the International Building Codes for General Construction.

The first option provides clients with a RCI installation team that can fully execute all points of installation and equipment procurement on-site. As a second option, RCI provides an installation team leader to guide the client’s crew through the installation process from start to finish. This process utilizes equipment that the client schedules and provides. In either case, all structures undergo a commissioning inspection and audit that is performed by a member of the RCI engineering team as part of the purchase package.

TRAINING To ensure our family of products are operated in a secure and responsible manner, operator training must be performed and subsequently completed. A current certified operator trainer or RCI instructor must train all course operators preceding the operation each day. The operator training session spans 2-4 days depending on product specifications. Trainees gain knowledge concerning pre-use inspections for the structure as well as safety equipment, procedures for properly outfitting participants, how to monitor participants and how to maintain a high level of safety. Operators are required to become recertified annually in order to maintain certification as it further promotes our company’s focus on safety with regards to the operation of our adventure products. RCI also offers training for your staff to become certified operator trainers and this certification lasts for 3 years.

INSPECTIONSDaily inspections of the structures and all safety equipment must be completed by a certified RCI operator and/or trained maintenance staff prior to participants being allowed on the course. The daily inspection consists of a visual inspection of the structure and tactile inspection of all the safety equipment.

An annual audit of each RCI product is imperative if they are to meet the safety and regulatory driven requirements of the manufacturer. A certified RCI inspector performs the annual inspection and meticulously checks the entire structure, its elements and equipment as well as compiles all of the required documentation for the daily, quarterly and annual operation. The audit package is then reviewed at RCI to determine compliance with manufacturer requirements. After a passing audit, the course is granted a certification sticker. RCI can train your staff to become an inspector to help keep the cost of the inspection portion of the annual audit at a minimum.

OVERVIEWThe seamless integration of a Sky Trail® or Sky Tykes® attraction and a Sky Rail™ results in delighted guests and owners alike. Not only will participants be enthralled by a smooth ride on the Sky Rail™ amongst an adventurous journey through the Sky Trail® or Sky Tykes®, but owners will essentially possess a thrilling combination of 2 attractions thus maximizing their revenue potential. On a Sky Tykes® attraction, the Sky Rail™ features a friction brake and safety gate to further keep kids safe as they have fun.

A Sky Rail™ can be designed with a straight or customizable curved overhead track to complement a client’s needs and space allowance. The curved Sky Rail™ allows for a longer ride in a smaller amount of space and gives participants a unique twist when compared to a normal ride on a similar attraction.

There are 2 types of braking systems available for a Sky Rail™ on a Sky Trail®:

Mechanical: A mechanical Sky Rail™ is equipped with a braking system which uses magnetic eddy currents to slow participants before landing. A trained operator is required at the Sky Rail™ take off platform to instruct and facilitate the loading of participants to enter the Sky Rail™ track.

Electronic: An electronic Sky Rail™ is equipped with an electronic braking system which uses a series of electronic sensors, gates and magnetic eddy currents to operate. This braking system requires a 120v 10amp electrical connection at the base of the Sky Rail™ column. A participant cannot enter the Sky Rail™ until the previous participant is clear and the electronic system resets itself. A trained operator is not required to load participants into the Sky Rail™ track.

Sky Rail™ features included with the purchase of a Sky Trail® aerial attraction:

• Upgraded Sky Rail™ redundant slinglines and emergency take down kits

• 2 element track stops per Sky Rail™

• Technician training for 1 staff person (electronic braking system only)

ENGINEERED FOR SAFETY AND DESIGNED FOR FUNThe Sky Trail® Seeker was created to ease the fear of heights teens or children may have by giving them the capability to ascend higher without a guardian’s assistance. Designed for patrons between 39” and 64” tall (99-163cm) and under 150lbs (68kg), this attraction features elements specific for their body sizes and ability levels. Ceilings as low as 20’ (6.1m) can comfortably fit a 2 level attraction and the higher the Sky Trail® Seeker, the more the elements get increasingly difficult.

This attraction can expand up to 4 levels tall for facilities with appropriate accommodations. It is an ideal addition to establishments such as children’s museums, zoos, kids only FECs and many others with high foot traffic areas for younger guests. Patents: www.ropescoursesinc.com/about

GLIDER BENCHReward participants with a break from their heightened adventures by choosing this relaxing element. Guests can decide to sit for a moment to refresh before resuming on the course or simply appreciate the view before them.

CUSTOMIZE: ELEVATE THE LEVEL OF FUNSky Trail® aerial attractions are custom made and specifically tailored to fit the unique needs of your business. We have an abundant variety of customizable features to add onto your attraction to further modify your attraction and deliver a memorable adventure filled experience to guests of all ages.

EXPANSION ELEMENTS

WALK THE PLANKAllow participants to be bold and engage with a one-of-a-kind challenge with this adventurous addition. The 6-inch wide stand-alone beam sets the stage for a daring walk of 7 feet sans handrails to give guests an exhilarating experience. For even more of a thrill, consider our tippy version that involves the plank slightly tipping forward to elicit a rush for participants or our spinning wheel addition that features an interesting design and encourages guests to fully embrace the plank element.

SUN/RAIN SHADESOutdoor attractons dominated by sunlight or lots of rain greatly benefit from the addition of sun or rain shades so participants as well as course operators no longer have to endure prolonged periods of harsh weather conditions. This installment allows everyone on the attraction to solely focus on their own amusement.

THEMED ELEMENTSAdd your company logo, mascot or theme to one of the 9 themed elements: bridge, stepping stones, steel lily pads, rope lily pads, weave walk, ledge walk, rope swings, color wheel and tippy plank. The integration of a personal mark on elements further establishes ownership and keeps the company on the minds of guests as they navigate the attraction.

SOUVENIR PHOTO SYSTEMAllow your guests to make your Sky Trail® a lasting memory by adding a souvenir photo system to your attraction. Client is required to collaborate with an outside camera supplier to incorporate this element, but RCI will provide the necessary brackets and mounting locations essential for the perfect souvenir photos!

QuickFlightThe QuickFlight offers an alternative yet exhilarating exit from the very peak of the aerial attraction for anyone and everyone who craves excitement. This energizing addition to Sky Trail® allows for the thrilling sensation of a free fall but with the added safety of an auto belay device gently catching you and lowering you to the ground. It is an attraction that pledges to leave guests feeling invigorated by the rush it elicits and owners satisfied with its huge appeal to a wide age range participation as well as rapid return on the original investment made. To ensure a healthy profit with this attraction, an additional charge will need to be implemented resulting in a higher ticket price. *Note: RCI suggests best practice is to utilize the QuickFlight product as an alternative exit. Additionally, it’s recommended to charge an extra $5-$7 for the QuickFlight exit. See page 26 for a QuickFlight example. A QuickFlight free fall can be added to any course with a mounting height of 26’ (7.9m).

The ability to customize your maze goes beyond panel colors and overall themes as the type of post used to construct the attraction can also be specified. Structural posts are offered predominantly in steel, but cedar posts are available as an alternative option. The wooden posts are durable and give any maze a traditionally rustic appearance, keeping in line with natural environments and themes. If steel is desired, the posts are coated with long-lasting paint to give a finished and polished look. No matter the material, both options will hold up year-round and bring smiles to every participant.

Minimal Operation with Maximum ReturnWhile the obvious goal of the Amaze’n Mazes™ experience is to make your way out in the fastest time possible, a 2nd game is built into it as well. Each runner is given a “passport” which must be punched by 4 separate letters hidden within the puzzle that spell the word M-A-Z-E. Once you’ve found each letter, the race is on to find the exit. One staff person is needed to monitor the entrance and exit. Their job is to punch each runner's passport with the time they enter the maze and the time they leave so runners can race for the best time possible. Maze owners often keep a leader board with runners’ best times each day for additional engagement and prize opportunities.

Each Maze Includes:• 2 time clocks• 4 game hole punchers• signage

• 1 observation deck • 1 elevated platform

*Note: Time clocks & punch systems makes the maze a contest for participants. There are 4 checkpoints throughout the maze participants need to find and punch on their passport card. Additional observation decks & elevated platforms are available for an additional cost.

ALIENS*

This challenge is from another planet! A space invaders theme dominates this playful wall that is designed to test the problem solving skills of any climber. LED lighting in corner molds adds to the excitement participants experience as they aim to steer clear of the aliens and reach the smiley face waiting for them at the top! For added difficulty, complete the challenge without the help of bright yellow ‘asteroids’.

AMAZING*

Amazing is tailor-made for first time climbers who want to strengthen their skills and learn valuable techniques! The vertical maze appearance allows footholds and handholds to be gripped in a variety of ways encouraging climbers to problem solve as they ascend. Participants will gradually gain confidence and be a pro in no time!

BIG CHEESE*

Suitable for climbers of all sizes, this challenge offers plenty of options in terms of a path to the top. Participants may choose a dominant color to dictate their path; yellow being the most difficult option that requires immense flexibility as well as analytical skills. Petite and tall climbers will appreciate the process of determining the ideal course to reach the wall’s peak!

CLOUD 9*

Enjoy a day in the clouds with this whimsical challenge meant for all skill levels! Circular holds with 4 functional orientations guide participants to the top of the wall as they choose 1 of 3 possible routes each indicated by a color. The use of jugs, side pulls and underclings allow climbers to set their own pace and rest when needed.

HEXED

Navigate as fast as a bee to conquer the large, vibrantly colored honeycomb pattern on Hexed! The hexagon shaped designs double as hand and foot holds that serve as your solution to reach the very top. Each color of hexagon signifies a different level of difficulty and can involve big moves depending on the route color. Develop improved balance and coordination with this bee-utiful challenge!

RED SQUARE*

The real difficulty lies beneath the surface on this challenge! Participants must utilize their problem solving skills to discover that the color indicated routes are hidden behind the hold “fronts”. If they then wish to make it to the top using a designated route, they must navigate a tricky maze of jugs, underclings and side pulls. Everything is not as it seems with this tetris-inspired challenge!

DIAMONDS

Become a human chess piece to maneuver this challenge! Resembling the design of an actual chessboard, this bold wall consists of 3 color coded routes participants can choose from to reach the top. Determining a route prior to the start is a critical part of solving this challenge and becoming a chessmaster!

THE CRAG

For the climbers who prefer a more natural looking wall, The Crag is molded just right to give the challenge itself a more rugged rock appearance. There are 3 available routes for participants to choose from that each involve traditional bolt on climbing holds and require several techniques. Climbers will love the classic feel of this challenge and will want to return in order to improve their skills even more!

TIME TRAVELER

Intended to be a speedy challenge, participants must reach the top before the countdown clock runs out! This interactive climbing wall utilizes both the clock and optical sensors to give participants an additional task as they try to gain points by capturing the sensors on the interchange symbols. Participants can also adjust the speed of the clock and choose just how fast it counts down. Friends and family will love the competitive edge this challenge gives!

CHECKERPLATE*

Checkerplate provides an all around unique experience for climbers with its metallic backdrop and LED lights that map out 3 possible routes. Participants are free to experiment on the terrain with a variety of climbing techniques such as palming, undercling, and pinch as they make their way to the top using different “collar” colors. This challenge requires careful climbing and diligent problem solving!

ZIGG ZAGG

Zigg Zagg provides participants with multiple challenges to enjoy within itself. Climbers must first choose 1 of 3 routes and then move from side to side as they also navigate vertical sections. The movement all over the wall and frequent change of direction makes for a tough challenge for participants to experience!

CIRCUIT BREAKER*

With a nod to the technological world, this challenge displays an abstract pattern similar to that of an actual circuit board. A bounty of lights featured throughout connection lines and handholds add to the difficulty for participants. To accomplish this challenge, participants may choose either the round flashing holds or solid square holds. The modern feel and glowing lights are sure to dazzle climbers of all ages!

SKYSCRAPER

Catering to the needs of both beginner and experienced climbers, this intensely colorful challenge allows participants to either climb directly up the middle, similar to that of a ladder, or choose the more difficult route and utilize the undercling handholds to reach the top. No matter the technique chosen, every skill level can enjoy this popular element!

LIGHTNING CRACK

Reminiscent of a crack in the side of a mountain, this challenge replicates a dilemma faced by many climbers. As participants ascend, they must display good body positioning and maintain an appropriate level of balance to maneuver the crack. Positioning both hands inside of the lightning bolt to climb makes for an interesting task in of itself and contributes to the sense of accomplishment felt at the end!

MORSE CODE*

While this challenge may look simple at first glance, it actually requires great finger strength to complete! Comprised of elongated and round holds in the center of the wall, this challenge varies in difficulty and even has a hidden message spelled out in code: Clip ‘n Climb® is fantastic fun! For those wanting a harder task, choose the red route to the top as it demands intense focus.

PIXETRON

Made up of an attention grabbing pattern that resembles pixels, this challenge encourages participants to select a specific color when determining a route upwards. The round holds mounted on the wall’s face can be gripped in a variety of ways but it is up to the participant to discover the ideal hand placement. This element not only offers an entertaining experience for participants but one worthy of social media for all!

SPAGHETTI JUNCTION

This savory inspired challenge is determined to test more than your hunger with its noodle-like ropes! Angular surfaces protrude outwards from the wall and feature hanging short ropes with handholds attached that participants must grab onto in order to reach the top. This challenge requires extensive strength and balance but can be tackled with patience and a little dedication.

DRY ICE

Transform into an ice mountain explorer with Dry Ice! Mimicking an ice axe technique, climbers must use provided “axes” to make their way up the wall. Choose 1 of 3 routes and plunge the “axe” in spaces located in the top of each hold that also double as usable foot holds. Manage to complete this arctic journey and be named the ice conqueror!

SPEED CLIMB*

Speed climb is a challenge truly crafted for the naturally competitive! Arrange walls in pairs so participants can satisfy a rivalry or install independently to allow for the sound defeat of a personal record. The LED lights in the corner molds and visible timer create a fast paced, high energy experience for participants as they race to the top!

DETONATOR

The detonator is a 3D climbing experience designed for any adventurous climber! This challenge features brightly colored spheres that participants must grab onto using small holds and large handles as they make their way to the top. The amusing appearance will draw in crowds and not disappoint!

JUNGLE VINES

Channeling the vibes of Spaghetti Junction, Jungle Vines features longer ropes and slatted footholds to further test even the most experienced climbers! Participants must steady their legs and swing on hanging ropes to dominate one of 3 routes indicated by ball color. Reach the top to become the king - or queen - of the jungle!

TRIFFID

Organic and plant-like in appearance, Triffid consists of large 3D holds that leave much up to the climber in terms of how to go about gripping them. No right or wrong way exists when it comes to climbing this imaginative wall as it partly depends on the size of the climber. Micro features located on shapes provide participants with even more opportunities to hold on as they work hard!

ORBITAL

This unique, interactive challenge leaves little time for rest! Comprised of multiple offset discs, participants must use the holds placed on the front of the discs to maneuver their way to the top of the wall but there is one thing to note about the discs - they rotate to the left and right! Highly challenging, this wall demands climbers continuously move and don’t stop!

DARK TOWER

Extremely popular because of its night time feel, Dark Tower is different than any other challenge! With the exception of the main opening, participants are enclosed and have only translucent holds backlit by LED lights to guide them towards the top. There are 3 routes to choose from within the tower itself and each are indicated by a different color. Participants will want to remain on the dark side!

DOME CHIMNEY

Utilizing a technique all its own, Dome Chimney requires that eager participants “bridge” their feet on holds located on opposite sides of the tower, use legs to drive upwards and push down with arms to make it to the top. Further increasing its difficulty, this approach also asks that climbers turn to face out as they navigate 3 available routes instead of facing the wall itself. Be the fastest to escape the chimney!

TRUBLUE AUTO BELAY & SELF BELAY™ CONNECTORSClimbing should feel natural and above all, safe. TRUBLUE auto belays have been thoroughly tested to ensure climbers are taken care of so that they can make the most out of their experience. The magnetic braking technology utilizes “eddy current” braking for a trusted and smooth descent every use and limits the amount of unwanted pull on the climber. The auto belays are outfitted with a Self Belay™ connector which maintains a high level of safety, reduces staffing and increases ease of use for participants unfamiliar with unlocking as well as attaching a triple action carabiner. Clip ‘n Climb® and Sky Trail® utilize the same harnesses that allow for the connection to Head Rush Technologies’ TRUBLUE auto belays. In the harness, participants can properly attach to the auto belay and begin their climb.

Choose from a variety of Clip ’n Climb® challenges to pair with your Sky Trail® aerial attraction and transform your location into a premier family destination! An added benefit to this unique combination is participants are outfitted with the same safety equipment for both attractions.
