Helix PCD Test (process challenge device) is used as a daily test for pre-vacuum hospital sterilizers and for bench

top steam sterilizers Class B for steam penetration and inert gases. The Helix PCD test is an excellent test to

detect even the smallest amounts of inert gases and steam penetration capabilities.

The EN 867 Part 5 is describing a Helix PCD based steam penetration test as an alternative for the Bowie & Dick

Test for bench top steam sterilizers Class B the EN 285 is specifying the Helix PCD test for hospital steam

sterilizers when it is mainly used to sterilize hollow loads.

Helix PCD test is not replacing routine monitoring of sterilization cycles. This should be done by lot control sets

and/or with in pack integrators.

There are different types of indicator according to the sterilization process selected: Steam, Ethylene Oxide and

Hydrogen Peroxide. If the all bars change to the final color, the result is successful, so the sterilizer is working

correctly. If one bar is different to the final color, it shows a bad sterilizing agent penetration, therefore an

equipment malfunction.

Class 4 Dual Strips monitors critical parameters to ensure proper sterilization has accrued during the steam

sterilization process. The Dual Strips designed for use in all steam sterilizers. Long stripe of chemical indicator ink

printed on perforated-style strip allows full- or half-length use for different pack sizes. For rigid sterilization loads

there should be at least 2 test strips diagonally opposite in each corner to ensure that the cycle has reached all

Pink Card Bowie & Dick Test


The Pink Card is a Bowie-Dick test designed to detect air leaks, inadequate steam penetration and vacuum pump

failures in pre-vacuum steam sterilizers. The test is conducted each day in an empty sterilizer prior to processing

any loads.

Class 5 Integrator

The Class Integrator is designed to evaluate parameters of the sterilization process on the location and to give

instant read-out. It can be used in all steam sterilizers as an internal pack monitor. The Integrator changes color

rapidly when the sterilization parameters are reached. An internal chemical indicator should be placed in every

sterilization package to ensure the sterilization agent has penetrated the packaging material and reached the

instruments inside.

Individual Bowie-Dick Test Sheets are designed for use in the towel-pack version of Bowie & Dick test. The high

sensitivity ink of the product and easy interpretation of color changes guarantee the earliest possible warning of

Ultrasonic Washer Test

Ultrasonic Washer Tests consist of a clear vial filled with reactive green-colored solution and glass beads. The

device monitors the cavitation capacity of the ultrasonic washer. When functioning correctly, vibration of glass

pearls will trigger a color change to a yellow color. Ultrasonic Washer Tests do not require a special holder to be

used. The washer test should be checked daily and weekly than results should be recorded.



When do I use Ultrasonic Washer Test?

Ultrasonic Washer Tests should be used in each ultrasonic cycle. The Ultrasonic Washing machine should also be

checked at least once a week with recorded results. This will detect any deterioration in the performance of the

cleaner and assist in preventing ineffective washing.


Seal Check is used to control the sealing machine whether if it meets the sealing standards or not. Seal Check;

visibly show the sealing machine results and quality so that the sealing problems can be found quickly and can be

SMMS wrapping paper consists of three nonwoven polypropylene fabric layers and can be used either as inner or

outer wrapping of medical devices and trays. The spunbond layers (S) provide good filtration properties, tensile

strength and are fluid repellent while the meltblown layers (M) ensure strong bacterial barrier properties with

very small porous size.

SMMS wraps as single or double wrapped are suitable for steam, ethylene oxide and hydrogen peroxide plasma

sterilization methods. The memory-free feature before and after sterilization ensures good aseptic presentation.
