NORDIC PLATFORMSince its establishment in 2012 Nordic Platforms’ main purpose has been to develop scaffolding platforms which simplify the users everyday while also supporting a safe work environ-ment. Having this as our goal we initiated a collaboration with leading experts within the field of composites and developed AIRSTEPS composite decks.

Previous to the launch were three years of research and de-velopment in order to reach a product fulfilling all the current standard within the business. In 2012 the first AIRSTEPS left the production facility and today we have customers all over the globe.

NORDIC PLATFORMSCOMPOSITE DECKSDue to its unique abilities, composite is a suitable material for scaffolding platforms. The market has had a positive response to AIRSTEPS and it is now used in many countries. AIRSTEPS contributes to the safety on the construction site through its low weight and high carrying capacity.

With AIRSTEPS we have been able to offer the industry a stronger, lighter and more durable alternative to regular scaf-folding platforms. The AIRSTEPS platform has a high carrying capacity, high durability, moisture resistant, UV-resistant, low weight and it is easy to clean.

As the only company in the world Nordic Platform produces scaffolding decks made from composite.

We have thereby challenged the market which is domi-nated by heavy wood and steel decks.

The innovative and robust AIRSTEPS composite deck does not take in moisture or expand. The product is resistant towards standard chemicals and preserves its unique pro-perties at high and low temperatures. All these product properties help ensure a long product lifetime. At end of lifetime the product can be reused in the production of other materials. AIRSTEPS has completed a long line of tests and fulfils all demands and standards.

All tests completed on the product confirms composites unique probabilities; both the technical test preformed in a lab and also feedback from the construction sites where AIRSTEPS are frequently in use. The deck is covered in an extremely slip resistant anti-slip surface.

The low weight of AIRSTEPS also leads to several econo-mical advantages. One can take more platforms in one’s truck due to the low weight and the erection and dismant-ling is faster due to the products being easy to handle.

The AIRSTEPS deck does not react to cold weather as aluminium and steel does which makes it even more popular by users in the wintertime. This characteristic is especially popular in Scandinavia. AIRSTEPS platforms are available in scaffold class 6 according to DIN EN 12811. AIRSTEPS deck meets all the newest safety stan-dards and is patent protected.

PRODUCTIONMETHOD AIRSTEPS – PULTRUDED COMPOSIT DECKSEffective production process ensuring the highest quality!AIRSTEPS is produced by pultrusion (extrusion process). Pultrusion is a method for production of fibre reinforced plastic profiles. The product is produced in a continuing stream which ensures it is uniform and of high quality. Our engineers have continuously optimised the production method and have now reached the required strength, durability, weight and design.

MATERIAL PROBABILITIES 2000 hours at 80°C.

ISO 4892-2: 2006 method ATested with a water-cooled xenonbowlamp with two Borosilicate filters. Black standard temperature was 65°C and the air temperature was 38°C. The light intensity was controlled at 340nm over 0.5 l W/m2 nm. The tests were removed after 2000 hours. 2000 hours equals approximately 2 years of direct sunlight in Scandinavia.

ALKALI & HCl AgingThe material is resistant towards alkali products such as plaster and mortar.The product is tested in a 50° C warm, saturated CaOH2 solution for 500 hours. Acid: the product is submerged in 20% HCI-solution at 50°C in 500 hours.

COMPOSITEStrong material with high resistance towardsheat, fire, chemicals and weather.

AIRSTEPS decks are available for all scaffolding systems and comply with the highest safety regu-lations. AIRSTEPS can be tailored to your specific system and the way you build it. Meaning that all wanted lengths and widths have an anti-slip surface ensuring great grip. Our end pieces are made from composite, aluminium or steal and fit all standard scaffolding systems.


AIRSTEPS HA deck is compatible with HAKI systems and can be ordered with an anti-slip end. The deck is made in composite with a steel end, anti-slip surface and is stackable. AIRSTEPS HA deck can be pro-duced in all colours and customized with your own logo. Scaffold class 6 according to DIN EN 12811. The standard colour is grey.

AIRSTEPS TralleIs a composite deck originally developed for the Danish and Swedish market. It is the lightest deck on the market, stackable and easy to handle. AIRSTEPS Tralle can be produced in all colours and customized with your own logo. Scaffold class 6.

Tralle lockIs used to secure the unattached decks. It fastens the deck to ensure increased safety and stability of the scaffold. The product also secures the decks in high winds.

SPECIAL SOLUTIONS

AIRSTEPS decks can be used for many other purposes than scaffolding platforms. Nordic Platform decks are used for eg. tribunes, walkways and stairs. We can also make platforms for your specific needs – in all lengths and widths(eg. 40 mm or 46 mm widths). The decks can be produced in any colour and customized with your own logo.

INCREASED SAFETY ON THE CONSTRUCTIONSITE!According to DIN 4420, freestanding scaffolding must be anchored vertically and parallel to the façade. The scaffolding anchor removes the risk of the scaffolding being pulled away from or pushed against the building. The anchor is installed during the stepwise erection of the scaffold. The anchor can be produced in any pos-sible colour while red, orange, yellow, green and blue are standard colours. The colour will stand out meaning that you can easily see if all anchors are correctly placed from a distance, and thereby also minimizing head injuries. If you want to modify the length of the anchor, this can easily be done with a hand saw.

SCAFFOLDING ACCESSORIES MADE FROM OCEAN PLASTICNordic Platform produces scaffolding accessories made from recyclable materials removed from the ocean; making an important contribution to environ-mental safety. From now on our spacefiller, safety caps, fall protection, pressure plate and toeboard clip will be made mainly of ocean plastic – without compromising the quality or strength of the products. By purchasing these products, you will help us make

a difference by removing plastic, fishing nets etc. from the ocean and remanufacturing it into new products. Helping both the oceanic animals, humans towards minimizing the intake of microplastic and moving toward clean oceans – benefitting all on this earth.

SCAFFOLDING ACCESSORIESFALL PROTECTIONSAFTEY ON THE CONSTRUCTIONSITEThe product is used as a shield on the scaffold when working on roofing. It measures 110x115 cm and has a handle. The product weighs 10.5 kg and is made out of plastic – mainly of ocean plastic. It can be pro-duced in green and black.


The new scaffold spacefiller is specially designed to close the gap that occurs between the scaffolding plat-forms. Nordic Platforms new spacefiller has an incredibly low weight and is simple to install! The product is easily customized by cutting it into the needed lengths. The spacefiller can be manufactured in PP material or Ocean plastic. Ocean plastic colors: green and black. PP colors: gray as standard, but can be ordered in other colors.

THE SPACEFILLER CLOSES THE GAP BETWEEN SCAFFOLDING PLATFORMS.

The newly developed safety cap minimizes risk of head injury. It can easily be applied to all Ø48,3 mm pipes. The safetycap can be produced in ocean plastic or PP (polypropylen). Ocean waste colours are green and black, but if the product is produced in PP it can be delivered in any colour (black is standard).

The support plates for base jacks are made of heavy ocean plastic. Avoid damage to the underlying surfaces.

Toeboard clips are required to secure toeboards and are mounted on the scaffolding frame. Toe-board can easily be inserted into the clips.

The safety clip is used to lock the beams / frames together. Made from composite or ocean plastic a light and strong material. The product can be produced in any colour and customized with your own logo.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSCAREFUL USE – WE ARE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY!

1. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCECleaning: Like with any other product AIRSTEPS ne-eds regular cleaning in order to ensure the products value. Profiles, ends and crossbeams are resistant towards medium strong acids and alkali; including hydrochloric acid which is often used for cleaning brickwork. The product can therefore be cleaned using the most regular cleaning agents. In contrast to aluminium, composite is also resistant towards the often-used alkali agents throughout the building process – e.g. Sodium hydroxide.

In a case where the product is very dirty, mechanical cleaning can become necessary and possible – as long as no cutting tools are used. If using high pres-sure cleaning the same precautions as when cleaning veneer platforms must be taken; high pressure and a small distance to the product should be avoided as it could cause surface damage.

2. DISPOSALIncineration – the profile contains 35% combustible material which means that disposed products can add a significant energy contribution if incinerated. It is important to notice that not all incinerators accept products where glass is a significant part of the ash. Since polyester only contains the chemical elements: coal, hydrogen and oxygen there will through cor-rect incineration only be developed carbon dioxide, steam and no pollutants.

3. REUSEComposite is very difficult for nature to break down which makes it suitable for reuse. After appropriately being granulated composite can be used as filler in concrete, asphalt and as part of the base of a road structure. Larger amounts of ends can be used as valuable recyclable plastic in several other produ-ction facilities.
