Range of application
The high-temperature load string transmits the force from the high-temperature specimen adapters in the furnace to the testing machine outside the furnace. This ceramic load string is used for high-temperature tensile and creep tensile tests from 850°C to 1,500°C.
Interchangeable high-temperature specimen adapters enable tensile tests on:• Round specimens with button head• Flat specimens with shoulder head and hole for pin
The ceramic load string consists of:• High-temperature pullrod coupling• High-temperature pullrods• High-temperature specimen adapter

High-temperature pullrod couplingfor creep testing machines (Kappa series)
With Kappa LA creep testing machines the high-tem-perature pullrod coupling is attached directly to the wear-free elastic hinges. In the case of Kappa SS /DS / SS-CF creep testing machines, attachment is via the mounting studs, as with universal testing machines.
The high-temperature pullrod coupling can be com-bined with metal pullrods, as well as with the ceramic high-temperature pullrods described in this PI. It is equipped with self-aligning spherical axial bearings top and bottom, ensuring alignment in accordance with ASTM E1012.
The maximum test load for the ceramic high-tempera-ture pullrods is 10 kN.
High-temperature pullrod couplingfor universal testing machines
In the case of universal testing machines, the high-tem-perature pullrod coupling is connected to the mounting stud of the load cell or the opposing connecting flange. There are several mounting stud sizes available depen-ding on the test load capacity (see table on page 4). Where heavy accessories are installed, connection can alternatively be by means of a T-slotted shoe connector.
The high-temperature pullrod coupling can be com-bined with metal pullrods, as well as with the ceramic high-temperature pullrods described in this PI. It is equipped with self-aligning spherical axial bearings top and bottom, ensuring alignment in accordance with ASTM E1012.
The maximum test load for the ceramic high-tempera-ture pullrods is 10 kN.

I) High-temperature specimen adapter for round specimens with button headThese specimen adapters are designed for roundspecimens with button head according to DIN 50125 Form C. Positive force transmission is via one button head.
II) High-temperature specimen adapter for flat specimens with shoulder head and hole for pinThese specimen adapters are designed for flat speci-mens with shoulder head and hole for pin in the end according to DIN EN ISO 6892 Types A2 and A3. Posi-tive force transmission is via a locking-pin.
High-temperature specimen adapters
The specimen adapters are suitable for tensile and creep tensile tests at high temperatures up to 1,500°C and can easily be changed to accommodate different specimen sizes and types. The maximum test loads depend on the specimen sizes (see table on p.4).
The split specimen holder is mounted directly on the self-aligning pullrods. Once the specimen has been positioned in one holder shell, the second shell is placed over the specimen and the outer support sleeve is pla-ced over the specimen holder.
