Mobile Self-Contained Emergency Safety Shower

Hughes Safety Showers manufacture a Mobile Self-Contained Emergency Safety Shower which has a capacity of approximately 114 litres and gives a constant flow of water for about 11/2 minutes.

The specially designed plastic lined cylinder is constantly charged with pressure and only requires the connection of a hose from a water main to fill it ready for use. Its compact design enables it to be easily stored when not being used. By incorporating a stainless steel frame and large diameter pneumatic tyres this cylinder can easily be moved and manoeuvred by one man. Should it be necessary to move the unit long distances or over uneven surfaces an ‘A’ frame with towing hitch (optional) can be fitted which enables it to be towed by any vehicle fitted with a standard tow ball.

The wheel spacing can also be altered which allows the unit to go through standard door openings; this is particularly important when requiring its use indoors in a laboratory or acid store etc. (Shown with optional Eye/Facewash Fountain and Optiflex).

As above but trace tape heated and pre-insulated STD-H-40K.

Also available Pre-insulated but without heating STD-J-40K.

Specification

Suitable for temporary use and capable of delivering a deluge of water for over 11/2 minutes.

This unit is easily filled by connecting to a mains water supply via a 15 or 20 mm hose pipe, it is then easily manoeuvred to its required position, either by hand, or by fitting an ‘A’ frame (optional) and hooking up to a standard tow ball on a vehicle. The wheel centres can be adjusted to enable the unit to be taken through a standard door openingallowing it to be used in laboratories and workrooms etc.

The 114 litre mild steel cylinder is lined to avoid internal corrosion and the exterior is painted with acid resistant white enamel paint. Fitted with Pictogram ‘Emergency Shower’ signs to International Standard BS EN ISO 7010 and green and white safety stripes.

Note: This Mobile Emergency Safety Shower is designed as a quick response first-aid device for use where a plumbed-in unit is not available and must therefore be backed up by a method of further decontamination.
