Key value propositions

1. Gut motility for digestive comfortResearch suggests that SureStart™ WPH 917 improves gut motility.

The in vivo model was used to monitor the effect of SureStart™ WPH 917 on:• Gastrointestinal (GI) transit rate. • Gastric emptying rate.

Comparing the effect with:• Intact casein (IC).• Intact whey protein (IW).• A control soy protein hydrolysate (SPH) known not to slow transit.

Findings:• Intact casein and intact whey both slowed GI transit

compared with soy protein hydrolysate control. SureStart™ WPH 917 did not alter GI transit compared with soy protein hydrolysate control.

Conclusion:• Infant formula with SureStart™ WPH 917 may have faster

GI transit rates than standard formula and may help improve digestive comfort in sensitive infants.

• Formula made with SureStart™ WPH 917 may reduce the incidence of spit up/regurgitation in infants compared to formula made with non-hydrolysed protein.
