MECHANICAL ENG INEER INGHybricon’s solution-oriented mechanical design engineers bring a vast amount of mod-

eling, analysis, and system optimization/integration experience to each project. Drawing

from an extensive design library as well as using our patented PAC-2000TM components,

our engineers have the ability to rapidly create a robust solution. Utilizing SolidworksTM

3D CAD design software, Hybricon has the in-house capability to quickly take any elec-

tro-mechanical project from concept to completion.

For more than a decade, Hybricon has continually in-

vested in providing strong thermal analysis capabil-

ities. These capabilities utilize two industry-leading

thermal management software tools: MacroflowTM

and Flomerics FlowThermTM.

Cadence’sTM OrCAD for schematic capture and Allegro for

SIGNAL INTEGRITY CAPABILITIES

Being the first in the industry to offer signal integrity ca-

pabilities, Hybricon understands how to engineer tech-

nologically superior backplanes. Industry leading tools

including AnsoftTM HFSS Field Solver & SynopsysTM

HSPICE Circuit Simulator aid in PCB layout, assuring su-

perior signal integrity and minimizing cross talk.

Being the recognized industry leader in signal integrity,

both PICMG and VITA have requested that Hybricon per-

form studies for many of today’s bus architectures.

ADVANCED 3D FIELD MODELING

One aspect of Hybricon’s per-

fected designs is our ability to

provide Advanced 3D EM Field

Modeling. This modeling leads to

high performance backplanes.

This is particularly true when utilizing the newer, high

density serial Gbit connectors. The 2D and 3D electro-

magnetic (EM) field solvers accurately model vias, sur-

face mount pads, and traces.

HSPICE SIMULATION POST PROCESSING

Hybricon also provides clear and

accurate simulated measure-

ments, s-parameters, and eye di-

agrams for high performance

backplanes. This allows evalua-

tion of the channel’s net ability to

transmit data.

telecommunications equipment is designed to operate under strict Network Equipment Build-

ing System (NEBS) specifications. More stringent than the FCC Part 15 requirements, NEBS covers

a large range of requirements, including criteria for personnel safety, protection of property,

and operational continuity. Hybricon has extensive experience designing electro-mechanical

systems which have been subjected to and passed NEBS LEVEL1, 2, & 3 requirements.

Many of today’s standard switched fabric backplanes are operating at 2.5 Gbps

to 3.125 Gbps; with leading edge products operating at 6.25 Gbps to 10 Gbps.

card guide is one example of the components of the industry's best enclosure

locity and focus turbulence around the electronic components for efficient heat re-
