OUTDOORS Devices that release agents into the atmosphere by means of compressed pellets and fuel mix, and burn between 200 – 800 ̊F. Primarily used for signaling, communication, crowd control, carrying agent or concealing the movement of personnel. Not to be deployed onto rooftops, in crawl spaces or indoors due to their fire producing capability.

INDOORS Devices that eject chemical agents into the atmosphere using various methods i.e. detonators, CO2 cartridge, primer and powder that have little to no fire hazard. Primarily used indoors and when deployed indoor can be beneficial for locating a suspect.

40mm MUNITIONSAs law enforcement gained access to the 40mm launcher for special needs in the late 80’s, technology was focused on enhancing this platform’s ability to accurately engage targets at greater distances. The Defense Technology® brand has been the leader in this field from the very beginning, utilizing US Army technology to introduce the first spin stabilized 40mm non-lethal round to the law enforcement market. The 6325 foam nose less lethal impact round is still the most accurate impact munitions available today, and has set the standards all others aspire to reach. The Direct Impact® family of payload rounds holds similar accuracy credentials while also delivering a chemical or marking payload on target. Continuing this proud legacy of innovation, the Defense Technology brand has also introduced the first truly extended range impact munitions, which have accuracy and payload capability that is unmatched in the industry.

FIRST DEFENSE® AEROSOL FORMULATIONSA leading brand among law enforcement agencies, we have an entire range of OC solutions. Officers can select a First Defense product from a complete line of OC sprays that will specifically address the needs at hand.

In combining the range of OC products, our color-banded packaging system allows operators and procurement alike to instantly differentiate between the intensity level and type of OC required. Offering the classic water-based formulation of First Defense and X2, along with the intensity of the oil soluble OC formulas of LE-10 in two different levels means that the First Defense line can meet and exceed field requirements of any enforcement officer.

The percentages on each canister relate to the percent of Major Capsaicinoid (MC %) in each formulation which is a laboratory proven method of validating the intensity of OC formulas. We recommend all consumers refer to this measuring system. While the subjective taste test called Scoville Heat Units (SHUs) has been the industry standard, we believe that using an independent laboratory to confirm the Major Capsaicinoid formula and level is the most objective and defendable way to ensure the quality and consistent application of OC products, time after time. Few brands have the experience and legacy that Defense Technology® brings to the market.

1.3% RED BAND1.3% formulation replaced the LE-10 formula stream and cone. Best suited for tactical teams and agencies that require immediate reaction and have decontamination and cross contamination options in place. This formulation has been tested is non-flammable and Electronic Discharge Weapon (EDW) safe.

1.3% BLUE BANDDefense Technology offers the most intense foam on the market. Identified by the blue color band, this product produces a rapid response from the suspect, while minimizing cross contamination effects. This formulation has been tested and is non-flammable and Electronic Discharge Weapon (EDW) safe.

.7% ORANGE BAND

.7% formulation replaced the 5.5% Pepper Mace® formulation. The .7% is available in stream and cone patterns. This formulation has been tested non-flammable and Electronic Discharge Weapon (EDW) safe.

.4% YELLOW BAND

.4% is equal to the water soluble First Defense® X2 spray via a stream pattern. This formulation is the most popular nationwide among patrol officers, providing very effective results without compromising the officer. This formulation is also available in an oil soluble cone, and foam delivery system. This formulation has been tested non-flammable and Electronic Discharge Weapon (EDW) safe.

OC/CS GRAY BANDThis formulation represents the addition of CS to OC which targets the respiratory system. This formula delivers significant intensity, but brings added clean up requirements not found in OC products. The OC/CS formula is NON Electronic Discharge Weapon (EDW) safe.

.2% WHITE BAND

.2% was created from the classic water soluble First Defense® formula. The .2% represents the major capsaicinoid level which is discharged at the nozzle at time of use. This formulation has been tested and is non-flammable and Electronic Discharge Weapon (EDW) safe.
