AIR HEATER BANKS

Standard Boxes 0.9mm galvanised or zincanneal material Removable cover 75mm deep

They come complete with: Internal insulation Electric duct heater inserts (including terminal box and safety’s) Spiggots, TDF Flanges or Slide joints Stage switching and contactors Pre wired if required

Complete air heater banks incorporating the choice of elements are designed and built to meet the requirements of individual air conditioning installations. Once we have been provided with full details for the job, the most economic arrangement of elements, banks, etc will be selected to comply with requirements.

Terminal boxes are custom made to suit your duct size. Heaters are wired in number of steps required to a terminal block inside, enabling your electrician to connect up power supply easily.

Under normal circumstances we select appropriate boxes, elements, etc to give the most economic combination and the best airspace coverage inside the duct.

Weather resistant boxes are also available for use in external applications.

Thermal can oer you a complete solution to your duct heating installation. We can supply the whole duct section saving you hundreds of dollars in on-site costs!

Normally each part of the duct heater would have to be organised through dierent suppliers. A company for the elements, a company for the duct section and someone to wire it on-site. By ordering the completely pre-assembled unit from Thermal you’ll save time and money knowing the unit is connected and working, all you have to do is insert it into your existing duct work!

Job data required for heater banks1. Nominate the element to be tted or the standard specied, eg. AS1668 Part 1 or AS3102 - Insulation2. Size of the duct and entry side of heater bank3. Insulation 4. edh handing side

application

To improve the eciency of TEE Electric Duct Heaters, Thermal designs all units with a specied handing side based on the customers requirements and site limitations.

By selecting a handing side relevant to the particular duct installation, on-site servicing is made much easier by facing the unit in a more easily accessible direction.

Determining the best handing side for an electric duct heater also optimises the performance of the unit by allowing for much more thorough over-temperature monitoring based on the position of the unit within the duct.

The handing side is based on the ductwork that the unit is being installed into whenlooking down the duct with the airow coming towards you. The handing is thenspecied as either Left hand side or Right hand side.

In air conditioned buildingsComfort during winter months is usually provided by ducted heated air throughout a building from a central air conditioning plant room. This plant is either a reverse cycle unit (cooling and heating) or a cooling unit only, with electric heaters mounted along the duct or inside the air conditioning unit.Such heaters are used to: Provide back up (booster) heating for reverse cycle units Reheat air to comfort level after chilling below dewpoint for dehumidication in summerLocation of the heater banks can be obtained by referring to the duct design layout, supplied by the installer, which should be kept either by the building maintenance sta or in some cases in the air conditioning plant room.

Comfort HeatingBelow is a guide for kilowatts required for room heating based on a 20°C dierence between inside and outside temperatures (interpolate for lower dierentials).

controls & accessoriesIn accordance with AS/NZS 1668 Part 1, temperature controllers and air pressure switches are required to eliminate overheating and possible premature failure of duct heaters.

over temp safety devices

controls

An over temperature controller is a thermally operated switch, designed to provide protection when its capillary tube is heated above a preset cut out temperature. This could be caused by an accidental cutting of the air ow. Over temperature controllers come in both manual and automatic reset. The units are fail safe - if the capillary is ruptured, the contacts open automatically.

Suering with unwanted condensate from your air conditioning unit?

Evapodry can solve this problem by evaporating the condensate from the collection tray under the split system’s compressor easily and eciently with no need for plumbing systems.A new and improved control unit ensures a more reliable evaporation process. The probe senses condensate or rainwater that has accumulated in the tray and energises the heating element. when the probe senses that the liquid has evaporated, the heating element is turned o.The electric heating element, together with its condensate sensing probe, ts inside the collection tray as an integrated unit. All electrical terminations are inside an IP55 rated enclosure. The condensate collection tray is stainless steel, measuring 400 x 400 x 75mm deep, with the heating element and control box tted to the front.

Heating element is rated at 240V 1000W

Enclosure is IP55 rated with weatherproof exible conduit entry and termination is by a 1 metre lead with 3 pin 10A plugtop

Evaporation rate is 1L per hour and this may vary dependent upon atmospheric conditions (like humidity levels)

Condensate tray is stainless steel400 x 400 x 70mm deep

Element safety cover fabricated from perforated stainless steel

The Evapodry has been tested by TUV Rheinland and meets Australian Standards AS/NZS 60335.2.15:2013 and 60335.1:2011 including amendment 1

The probe senses condensate or rainwater and turns on the heating element.

REFRIGERATIONThermal Electric have been supplying defrost, drain pan and coil heaters for refrigeration cabinets for over 40 years and have the most extensive database of parts information in the industry today.

TEE supplies heaters for all cabinets including Frigrite, Muller, Kirby, Repco, Austral, Bualo Trident, Kysor, Hussmann, Coldwright, Koxka and many more.

Stainless steel sheathed elements are designed to be capable of reaching temperatures of 1150°C, however refrigeration applications do not require such high temperatures, thus giving a long lasting product.

A wide variety of terminations, lead lengths and lead types are available. Leads are capable of operating in temperatures of -40°C to +150°C. Custom designed heating elements can be produced for obsolete freezer cabinets, coil and drain pans.

DEFROST HEATERSThermal’s defrost heaters are constructed of stainless steel sheathed elements with brass or stainless steel ns for quick heat dissipation and are made fully water resistant by vulcanising double insulated cable to the end of the element.

All dimensions are given in millimetres and elements are rated at 240V.Special sizes, voltages and wattages manufactured to suit your requirements.

REFRIGERATIONDRAIN & CONDENSATE PAN HEATERS

Drain and condensate pan heaters are used for the prevention of ice build up in drain ways and condensate pans of commercial refrigeration units. Thermal’s drain and pan heaters are constructed of stainless steel sheathed, low watt density elements to guarantee a longer life span and higher resistance to corrosion.

Below are some of our standard range of drain pan heaters, however we can manufacture any size or shape of refrigeration heater you might require and have the largest database of cabinet manufacturer parts in the country.

All dimensions are given in millimetres and elements are rated at 240V.Special sizes, voltages and wattages manufactured to suit your requirements.

REFRIGERATIONThermal’s Silicone Flexible heater is used extensively within the commercial refrigeration industry to prevent ice build up within condensate trays and drains.

A exible heater that is resistant to water, oils, chemicals and many harsh environments ensures a safe, reliable and economical solution.

Designed for freeze protection and process temperature maintenance along pipelines, anges, valves and pumps; or used wherever our reliable tubular calrod type heating elements cannot be used due to uneven surfaces or obstacles prohibiting easy installation. Other applications include anti-condensation heaters for large electric motors, control enclosures, switchboards and sump heaters for diesel engines.

Construction of the Thermal Silicone Flexible heater consists of a Nickel Chromium (NiChrome) resistance wire heli-coiled around an electrical grade high temperature breglass cord, insulated by a silicone rubber sheath.A second breglass sheath is added for further electrical and mechanical protection of the resistance wire. The double insulated heating cable is enclosed within the third and nal high temperature silicone breglass sheath, terminated with silicone cold tails and further sealed with a silicone rubber sealant.

Maximum operating temperature of 220°C.Lengths ranging from 500mm to15 metres and various watts per metreand voltages are available on request.
