The phrase ‘soft skills’ is often used to describe the skills which characterise relationships and other people, or how you approach interactions.

Communication is only successful when both the sender and the receiver understand the same information. By getting your message across, you convey your thoughts eff ectively. When not successful, the thoughts and ideas that you convey do not necessarily refl ect your own.

02COMMUNICATION IN PERSON

Eff ective face-to-face communication helps to establish a personal connection and will help sell the product or service to the customer. These interactions can portray a completely diff erent message than written communication as tone, pitch, and body language is observed.

03MANAGING MEETINGS

With proper planning and preparation, any meeting can be eff ective and enjoyable. Meetings give members a chance to discuss and evaluate goals and objectives, to be updated on current events, to provide a chance to communicate and to keep the group cohesive.

04PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATIONS

In day-to-day interactions, you respond to the situation at hand. Preparation is often not needed or even impossible. But with formal presentations, you’re scheduled to speak in a group setting for a longer period, with the communication going mostly one-way.
