Bolster Your On-the-Ground and Online Engagement Activities Table #1 Learn about upcoming new indie film content from Independent Lens and resources available from ITVS that can help support online and on-the-ground engagement activities to meet digital, development, education, and community engagement goals. This will also be a space to share best practices and gather input on how to tackle common challenges around producing digital and in-person engagement events. We’ll also answer questions about how your station can tap into two innovative offerings from ITVS: -Indie Lens Pop-Up is a national screening program featuring free access to select Independent Lens films, planning and promotional resources (discussion guides, social media toolkits, etc.), and one-on-one engagement support and peer knowledge sharing opportunities. OVEE is a social TV experience — a powerful new way to reach, connect, and engage with audiences. OVEE brings together viewers to watch video, chat, answer poll questions, and express themselves via emoticators — all on desktop or mobile. Created by ITVS and funded by CPB, OVEE is free to public media and can be integrated with all content on COVE, YouTube, and Vimeo. Convener: Daniel Moretti, ITVS

Mission Driven Pledge Programming Table #2 With the pledge landscape changing, many stations are turning to local programming as a source of viewer support. WTTW has had great success with this since 1995. We've produced more than twenty 90-minute pledge specials about the architecture and history of Chicago and its suburbs. These are routinely the highest-grossing and most-watched programs during WTTW's pledge drives, and have "legs" in repeats year after year. WTTW staffer Geoffrey Baer writes and hosts the programs. (He is also the host of the recent PBS series "10 That Changed America" and a volunteer Chicago Architecture Foundation tour guide). In this conversation Geoffrey and WTTW Chief Content Officer Dan Soles will share lessons learned. They encourage you to bring examples, ideas and questions from your markets. Convener: Geoffrey Baer, WTTW/Chicago, IL

PDP Small Stations Group Discussion Table #3 Small overlap stations, whether in mid-sized or large markets, have specific needs and concerns: including: how to navigate PBS promotional assets which rarely match the stations' needs; working with the primary station in their markets on waivers, co-productions, branding; trying to integrate COVE and other web assets that are part of the PDP station dues, but often are so inflexible as to be rendered useless to stations. Can we find solutions together? Share ideas, models and stories? Convener: Darren LaShelle, KRCB/Rohnert Park, CA

Join us to network with women in our industry and share your questions and experiences on how to grow both your career and personal life. Convener: Deanna Mackey, Public Television Major Market Group

"They Were Our Fathers" Table #6 Over 20,000 children lost their fathers in the Vietnam War. "They Were Our Fathers" is a documentary about these boys and girls, now men and women, who grew up without their dads, still searching for answers about a war which divided our nation and drastically changed their lives forever. Poignant stories of these children and the fathers that they loved and lost are intertwined with a special celebration and rose ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, held on Father's Day. Under the direction of Executive Producer Jill Hubbs, a WSRE production crew traveled to Washington D.C. to capture the stories and events which honored these fallen fathers. The film is narrated in first person by Hubbs, whose father, a Navy pilot, remains missing in action in Vietnam. This program is available to stations to be aired at any time and is ideally suited as a special feature for use on Father's Day, Fourth of July, Veterans Day, Memorial Day and also as a companion to Ken Burns Vietnam documentary series.
