Durability / Strength

The weight of a URESTONE 4 ft x 8 ft panels is between 32-38 lbs. (less than a sheet of plywood). This light weight panel allows for easy handling and installation. CORNER & COLUMNS

The URESTONE Professional 4ft x 8ft series is the largest textured panel on the market. Competitive faux stone panels typically range between 12” x 48” to 24” x 48”. This large URESTONE panel series provides designers, contractors and home owners the tools neces-sary to accomplish their projects with less seams, less time and with a more continuous appearance.

The URESTONE Wainscot product line is an innovative series of pre-engineered panels that are designed with a built-in top ledge. They are available in a length of 96” and height of 36-42”, depend-ing on the pattern. So these one piece ready to install wainscot panels interlock to form a seamless and natural look that provide an extremely simple and fast installation.

Another unique and innovative aspect of the URESTONE product line is the broad spectrum of both interlocking and non interlocking corners that are available for each of the panel systems. They pro-vide seamless transitions at the corners. In addition to the corners series, there are coordinating columns, surrounds, and pilasters for the key stone and brick patterns.

CORNERS

We offer 3 types of corners to complement our URESTONE panel series: Keyed, Keyless & Accent corners. Keyed corners are designed to interlock into our standard panels to create a seamless transition. The keyless corners were designed for projects where the length of our panels combined with a keyed corner didn’t work. They measure slightly thicker than our panels so that they cover the exposed product when the keys are cut off. Finally, our accent corners were designed as a larger product that can be used as a standalone product or add accent to an existing one.

STEP 1 A moisture resistive barrier is necessary if the project is an exterior application. To begin proper instal-lation, use a chalk line/ level to start your first row of panels. After your chalk line has been established, begin at the corner of your structure (photo #1). Mount the first panel, in this instance a corner panel, and secure it with 2” - 3” exterior deck screws. Deck screws are available in a variety of colors. We rec-comend that you select a color that will most closely match the mortar color of the panels. See screw our screw and caulking in our comprehensive installation manual.

Apply a panel by connecting the inter-locking keys (or finger joint) to the corner (photo#2). Occasionally the keys may require filing or sanding to optimize the fit. Tap into place tightly using a small rubber mallet. Once the panel is positioned, make sure that it is level

Adding the last panel- Once a point is reached where a full panel is too large to place between the panel and the corner /end of the wall, you will need to measure the distance from the inside of the deepest key to the wall (photo #5). Mark this distance on the back of the next panel and cut accordingly, preferably using a circular saw (photo #6).

If corner pieces are not used- the panels may be mitered for an easy corner wrap. See separate instructions on mitering corners.Beginning with the next row of panels, stagger the seams to form a more natural appearance. Continue this process to the succeeding vertical rows, until the desired height is reached.

If installing a wainscot wall, after the first row is applied, install a ledger trim onto the top of the panels. The ledger is screwed and glued (if possible) (photo #7) above the top of the panel. Fasten the ledger by placing screws from underneath, then use caulking to cover all screw heads.

After the panels and ledger have been installed, using our special colored/textured caulk and a caulk gun, apply caulk to the seams (photo #8). You can create a natural looking mortar line by and using a small damp bristled paint brush and simply sweeping over the caulk to smooth out the appearance. After cutting (when trimmed for proper fit), use the touch up paint kit and the caulking to cover any ex-posed polyurethane. Following this process will create a natural appearance. (NOTE: any exposed polyure-thane (foam) to UV sunlight rays may cause discoloration, therefore, simply use the caulk and a touch up paint kit to completely cover any exposed polyurethane).

(photo #3) and then, using deck screws, secure the panel tightly to the substrate using the formula of one screw per two square foot (see photo #4). Continue in this fashion until you approach the end of the wall or the next corner. It may be easier and more effective to caulk each joint/key as the panels are being installed instead of after the panels are fully installed. 2 3 4
