Features Overview

Veripress is the softproofing part of Serendipity Blackmagic proofing solutions. The

software intergrates seamlessly into all CTP workfow solutions and proofs the actual post

ripped files including spot plates. Autoproofing when activated will automatically process

completed jobs into front and back page sections and assigns a publication name based on

the job name, number or coding within the file name, making it easy for press operators to

identify a job.

OS SystemsThe software is server based and runs on Mac OSX / Windows and Linux and has unlimited

GUI clients without rental fee’s or click charges. This allows printers with multiple press lines

and remote clients to take advantage of this technology.

Input / Publications / Revision PagesWorking from CTP single bit tiffs or PDF files with spot plates, pages are processed and

rotated at high speed and linked with a publication name via the use of an advanced job

genie application. Completed publications, then immediately appear on the touch screen

console with a thumbnail image for easy identification and instant display. The touch screen

console provides fast navigation to any page, including the selection of revision pages.

Monitor CalibrationVeripress includes a built-in ICC monitor calibrator, with a reminder, providing tight control

over all international and ISO print standards. Colour accuracy, speed of display, automation

and simplicity of operation are key features of this new software.

Calcheck Media WedgeA new Calcheck creator enables printers, agencies, publishers to import and create their own

ICC certification “pass / fail” charts from any in-house or industry standard profile. This

ensures all parties are viewing the same pages under identical certified conditions using a

Blackmagic networked client.

Calcheck ValidationAfter the monitor calibration is complete, the software performs a Calcheck validation

process to determine the “pass / fail” accuracy of the monitor against the standard.

Touch Screen ConsoleThe touch screen navigator, with interactive thumbnails, instantly displays any section of the

sheet or magazine web ribbon within a fraction of a second.

Softproof SettingsThe softproof can be pre-programmed so upon the completion of the loading sequence, jobs are displayed at either print size, fit height or fit width.

Reverse Page ViewingA transparency control allows pages to be displayed back-to-back, showing the precise see

through effect when printing on different gsm stocks. Accurate paper background

simulation is also shown using the ICC press profiles or by measuring the paper with online

instruments.

Reader SpreadsSide-by-side reader spreads can be displayed from single pages or from any imposed sec-

tion. This is a very demanding feature that printers asked for, so they could check the colour

balance of double page ads covering read-over sections.

Press Queue OrderThe press queue order facility allows jobs to be automatically assigned to specific presses

or for designated remote softproofing sites. This ensures the press operator or agency only

sees their specific jobs. Publications can be easily re-assigned to another press if need be.

Press PresetsUser defined press presets may contain different ink, paper, number of ink keys,

transparency factors and also wet on wet dot gain characteristics and are selectable via the

touch screen console. All display functions take place on the fly using ICC profiles without

the need for processing.
