2. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

2.1 RESEARCH INTERESTS

Research interests cover a wide spectrum from basic laser physics and technology to a whole

range of possible applications. Previous work essentially covered spectroscopy of atoms, ions

and molecules. In recent years, focus has been on applications such as laser-enhanced

chemistry and chemical reactions (catalyst regeneration, photo-polymerization, laser ignition

etc.), conventional & laser ultrasonics, materials processing, and nanotechnology.
