White Horse Christian Center, spreading the good news about Jesus Christ

Known as a revival celebration center, White Horse Christian Center’s (WHCC) ministry serves to promote unity through diversity by growing a strong, healthy church that desires to meet the needs of all who would come and equip them to do the work of the ministry.

Within the over 32,000 square-foot facility lies a 1,000- seat sanctuary, a 250-seat fellowship hall, a commercial kitchen, classrooms, office space and the “West 3rd” youth recreational facilities.

According to Jayna Mullen, Minister of Music and Publications Manager, the space serves the ministry well as it hosts nine annual conferences which gather people from six continents for encouragement, teaching, and building relationships in the Body of Christ.

“Reaching our neighbors and the world with the love of Jesus” is the motto of the congregation, and in representation of the ministry’s vision flags of every nation hang throughout the building.

Classes for all ages are held Sunday mornings at 8:30 and Wednesday evenings at 7PM. The large Latino population of WHCC holds a Wednesday evening class in Spanish and the 6 PM Sunday service is bi- lingual.

The staff at White Horse Christian Center is made up of 15 full- and part-time administrative employees, a pastoral staff of seven in support of Senior Pastor Jeff Johns, as well as an extensive network of volunteers who serve the ministry in many capacities.

Pastor Johns was called to pastor at a young age and recently celebrated his 25th

year of pastoring WHCC. His ministry transcends denominational, generational and ethnic barriers.

Referred to as the “pastor of pastors,” Pastor Johns leads the other pastors at WHCC, Johnnie Beard, Gary Osborne, Bobby and Martha Kirkley, Ignacio and Consuelo Barrón, and Tracy McCutcheon to fulfill the vision of the church “to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul,

mind and strength, and love all people as Jesus loved us so the world will know we are His disciples as we go tell all people the good news about Jesus.”

Acceptance and fellowship found at Bethel Christian Life Center Bethel Christian Life Center was established in 1984 by a dedicated group of local people with a heart for their community. “As a spirit-filled church, it is our desire to exalt the Lord Jesus, expand his Kingdom and equip believers for a life of meaning and ministry,” said head pastor Ted Brust.

“Bethel Christian Life Center makes personal and corporate worship a priority,” he continued. “A celebration experience of glorious praise and thanksgiving that honors God awaits you!” “You will find acceptance and fellowship along with the challenge to ‘know, grow and go’ as you avail yourself of the

opportunities to reach those around you with the life- changing message of Jesus Christ.” Bethel Christian Life Center is a church that serves locally, nationally and internationally. The church serves the community through its Christ- centered childcare Monday through Friday, a food pantry, Sunday school classes for all ages and children’s ministries, directed by pastors Zack and Liz Rainey and the Brightside Youth Ministry, led by pastors Jim and Robin Walsh. There are bimonthly small group meetings around the area. Bethel also is in partnership with Chi Alpha, a student organization at Purdue. The church also supports 43 missionaries worldwide and sponsors more than 40 underprivileged children in Africa and India. “Bethel is a church about people where friends are made,

families are raised and God is praised,” said Pastor Brust. “You will be embraced and accepted at Bethel.” “You will experience heartfelt worship and the truth of God’s Word, while enjoying the company of people who want to be your friends and family.” Bethel Christian Life Center holds Sunday worship services at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening family night is at 6:30 p.m. “If you’re looking for a place in which to belong, a place to use your gifts and skills, a place to be equipped for the service of the Lord, you will find what you need at Bethel Christian Life Center,” said Pastor Brust.

Pursuing God’s Purposes in the World

The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) of Lafayette dates back to 1870 and has been worshiping in their current location since February of 1997.

According to Senior Pastor Stacey Littlefield, ECC’s mission is “to build a community of people who worship God, follow Jesus, and pursue the purposes of God in the world.” ECC pursues this mission through strong local outreach, small groups, diverse spiritual growth opportunities, as well as relevant, dynamic worship each week. Ministry to and with children, youth, families of children with special needs, strong men’s and women’s programs, a growing outreach to Haiti and an atmosphere of authenticity, faith and enthusiasm characterize life in the ECC community.

Along with Pastor Littlefield, other pastors include Kurt Kincanon (Administrative), Bo Bannister (Worship), Dawn Bodi (Discipleship) as well as several other ministry directors.
