Heritage Award Presentation / Blue Cavern Saturday 11:45 a.m. East West Players East West Players (EWP), a nonprofit organization, is the nation’s premier Asian American theatre. It produces plays and educational programs that give voice to the Asian Pacific American experience. Established in 1965 EWP serves over 30,000 members of Southern California’s diverse community through its award-winning professional theatre, adult arts education, and in-school youth performing arts programs.

EWP offers a growing array of educational programs, training over 200 multicultural artists each year. EWP’s career development program creates opportunities and visibility for Asian American artists. It has worked, in coalition with other groups, to establish commitments from the major networks to increase diversity in the television industry.

Along with these programs, EWP produces a touring Theatre for Youth that reaches an estimated 50,000 K-8th graders and their families via in-school performances and
