Desde el 20 de junio y hasta el mes de septiembre, se podrá visitar la muestra Fundación Escuela Taller. Contribuyendo a la conservación y recuperación del Patrimonio Histórico de Filipinas organizada por la Embajada de España en Filipinas en el Museo Nacional de Filipinas. Una extraordinaria oportunidad para acercarse a la labor de formación, recuperación y puesta en valor de la historia patrimonial filipina que la Escuela Taller de Intramuros ha estado realizando desde su inauguración en 2008.

From June 20 until September, visitors will be able to view Escuela Taller Foundation: Contributing to the Preservation and Rehabilitation of Philippine Historical Heritage, an exhibit organized by the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines at the National Museum of the Philippines. It is an extraordinary opportunity for the public to get to know the work that the Escuela Taller has carried out in training, rehabilitation and promoting Philippine historical patrimony since its inauguration in 2008.

Éstas serán exhibidas y presentadas por sus directores el próximo 1 de julio, en un acto al que asistirá el Encargado de Negocios de la Embajada de España en Filipinas.

El World Premieres Film Festival (WPFF) cuenta con la participación de películas de 27 países que aún no han sido proyectadas y cuyas premières serán en Manila. España también estará representada en otras secciones fuera de competición como Cine Verde, Ibero-America y Euroview con títulos como Costa da morte (Lois Patiño, 2013), Agua Bendita (Octavio Guerra, 2013), Alpha (Joan Cutrina, 2013), Hijo de Caín (Jesús Monllaó, 2012) y Barcelona, nit d’estiu (Dani de la Orden, 2013).

The Spanish films An Autopsy of Love (Arturo Prins, 2014), Crustaceans (Vicente Pérez herrero, 2013) and New York Shadows (Juan Pinzás, 2013) have been selected to participate in the official competition of the first edition of the World Premieres Film Festival in the Philippines. These movies will be screened and presented by their directors on July 1, an event that the Chargé d´Affaires of the the Embassy of Spain will grace.

Films from 27 countries never been screened before will be shown at the World Premieres Film Festival (WPFF), having their first public showing in Manila. Spain will also be represented in other categories outside the

competition such as Cine Verde, Ibero-America and Euroview including Coast of Death (Lois Patiño, 2013), Holy Water (Octavio Guerra, 2013), Alpha (Joan Cutrina, 2013), Son of Cain (Jesús Monllaó, 2012) and Barcelona Summer Night (Dani de la Orden, 2013).

La sesión consistirá en la presentación de cinco propuestas didácticas para el Aula de Español como Lengua Extranjera y está dirigido a profesores de Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College y Poveda College.

The Embassy of Spain in the Philippines and the Department of Modern Languages of the Ateneo de Manila University is organizing this training course for university teachers of the Spanish language. It will consist of five teaching proposals for the Spanish Classroom as Foreign Language and will target professors of the Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College and Poveda College.

The film festival Cuisinema, organized by the Lyceum of the Philippines University, aims to bring culinary arts closer to the public through cinematographic works in which gastronomy is but one of the leading characters. The Embassy of Spain in the Philippines is collaborating with this project by contributing the film 18 Meals by director Jorge Coira.

Arquitectura de Sevilla, en esta conferencia organizada por la Japan Society For Asian Pacific Properties Studies, en la que se expondrá la respuesta técnica y las pautas a seguir para la recuperación del patrimonio histórico dañado en Cebú y Bohol tras el terremoto de octubre de 2013.

Juan Ramón Jiménez Verdejo, architect and professor at the University of the Shiga Prefecture in Japan, joins other Spanish speakers such as Carlos Gallego Alonso, Program Officer for the Technical Office of Cooperation of the AECID in the Philippines, and Jesús Alberto Pulido Arcas of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Seville, in this conference organized by the Japan Society For Asian Pacific Properties Studies where the technical countermeasure and models to follow in the rehabilitation of the historical heritage damaged by the earthquake I Cebu and Bohol in October 2013.

Conferencias sobre las relaciones hispano-filipinas por parte de expertos de diferentes materias y universidades así como actuaciones musicales y diversos actos, tendrán lugar con motivo de la celebración de esta semana dedicada a la lengua y cultura españolas.

The Embassy of the Spain in the Philippines will take part in the inauguration of the Eighth Philippine-Spanish Friendship Week at the De La Salle University in Manila. This week-long celebration devoted to Spanish language and culture, lectures on Philippine-Spanish relations by experts on different fields and from various universities as well as musical programs and diverse activities will take place.

El Instituto Cervantes de Manila, The Japan Foundation, Goethe-Institut, y las Embajadas de Italia, EE.UU y Francia, con la colaboración de la Embajada de España en Filipinas y EUNIC Filipinas, presentan la octava edición del Festival Internacional de Cine Mudo de Manila. Un festival único en su especie, que muestra películas mudas con acompañamiento musical en directo a cargo de bandas filipinas.

España participa con la película Curro Vargas (José Buchs, 1923) basada en la zarzuela homónima, con acompañamiento musical de la banda filipina Glass Cherry Breaker. La función será el 31 de agosto a las 17.00 horas.

Instituto Cervantes, The Japan Foundation, Goethe-Institut, and the Embassies of Italy, USA and France, with the collaboration of the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines and EUNIC Philippines, present the 8th Manila International Silent Film Festival. Considered to be the only one of its kind in Asia, this cultural event showcases silent films from various countries with musical accompaniment by local bands.

The Spanish entry is the film Curro Vargas, directed in 1923 by José Buchs, based on a famous zarzuela from the period. It is scheduled on 31 August at 5.00 p.m. Musical accompaniment by the Filipino band Glass Cherry Breakers.

El argentino Julio Cortázar es uno de los grandes escritores del siglo XX. El 26 de agosto se cumple el centenario de su nacimiento y el Instituto Cervantes de Manila se quiere sumar a los actos de homenaje con un recital de textos suyos sobre jazz, acompañados de temas interpretados por el saxofonista filipino Tots Tolentino.

Con la colaboración de la Embajada de España en Filipinas, el Departamento de Lenguas Modernas de la Universidad de Ateneo de Manila y el Departamento de Lenguas Europeas de la Universidad de Filipinas (UP Diliman).

Argentinian writer Julio Córtazar was one of the 20th Century greatest writers. August 26 marks the centennial of his birth. Instituto Cervantes honors this meaningful date with a concert-recital of the writings of Cortázar along with jazz themes. Music will be performed by renowned Filipino saxophonist Tots Tolentino.

With the collaboration of the Embassy of the Spain in the Philippines, the Department of Modern Languages of the Ateneo de Manila Unviersity and the Department of the Modern Languages of the University of the Philippines (UP Diliman).

La Embajada de España en Filipinas en colaboración con el Departamento de Lenguas Modernas de Ateneo de Manila University y el Departamento de Lenguas Europeas de la Universidad de Filipinas organizan dos sesiones formativas sobre el sistema educativo español y la elaboración de materiales didácticos para la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras.

Los destinatarios de esta actividad son los 18 graduados filipinos que participarán en el Programa de Auxiliares de Conversación extranjeros en España en el curso 2014/2015, y alumnos de último curso que estén realizando estudios de español.

The Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, in collaboration with the Department of Modern Languages of the Ateneo de Manila Unviersity amd the Department of the Modern Languages of the University of the Philippines, is offering two training sessions on the Spanish educational system and the preparation of teaching materials for foreign language teaching.

Tras su paso por la capital, Cine Europa también estará presente en otros puntos de la geografía filipina como Baguio, Iloilo, Cebú, Davao, Zamboanga, Cagayán de Oro, y con especial cariño, en Baybay y Tacloban (Leyte), gracias a la colaboración del Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Taller de arquitectura “Métodos de refuerzo de muros de piedra de coral” Architectural Workshop on “Methods of Reinforcement of Coral Stone Walls”University of San Carlos, College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA), Talamban Campus, Talamban, Cebu City

La piedra de coral es uno de los materiales que caracterizan a la arquitectura filipina tanto religiosa como civil. A través de este taller de arquitectura, expertos españoles, filipinos y japoneses expondrán los métodos existentes para el refuerzo de muros de este tipo. En esta actividad organizada por la Universidad de la Prefectura de Shiga en Japón, también participa la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo, Escuela Taller de Intramuros, la Universidad San Carlos de Cebú y la Universidad de Mujeres de Fuji.

Coral is one of the materials that defines both secular and religious Philippine architecture. Through this workshop, Spanish, Filipino and Japanese experts will present existing methods to reinforce walls of this type. Participating in this activity organized by the University of the Prefecture of Shiga in Japan are the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development, the Escuela Taller de Intramuros, the University of San Carlos in Cebu and the Fuji Women’s University.
