OurMission

Character& Citizenship

Good

To inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school. We create opportunities for high-yield learning activities, which include leisure reading, writing, discussions with knowledgeable adults, homework help, tutoring, helping others, and games, like Scrabble, that help develop cognitive skills.

Good Character & Citizenship programs enhances and develop leadership skills within self, others, the Club and community through service learning and social emotional activities.

The Healthy Lifestyles programs address the distressing trends we see in children’s health. We address the keys to a healthy body, mind, and soul.

Family engagement is a family-centered and strengths based approach to making decisions, setting goals, and achieving desired outcomes for our Club members and their families. BGCGH believes in creating and sustaining strong relationships with families through engagement, empowerment, and access to community partners to positively impact the well-being of the whole family.

Family Engagement

BGCGH’s workforce readiness initiative provides comprehensive workforce development programs to help young people become first-job ready, develop a plan for the future, and build the skills that employers value most.
