Financial Assistance The LUM Good Samaritan Program provides emer-gency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and pre-scription medication to eligible Tippecanoe County residents

ID Clinic The LUM ID Clinic offers individuals assistance with the process of obtaining a valid Indiana identification card, and helps individuals with the entire process. The service is free, but the entire process may take a few weeks to complete.

Immigration Services The LUM Immigration Clinic provides confidential immigration law services and is recognized by the Bureau of Immigration Appeals as an authorized im-migration services provider. Services include answer-ing questions, consulting with clients regarding bene-fit eligibility, filling out immigration forms, providing free citizenship classes and connecting clients with other resources.

Tax Assistance From January through April, certified LUM volunteer tax preparers assist clients in filing state and federal returns, with particular emphasis on Earned Income Tax Credits. Families and the community benefit from the tax dollars returned.

After School Childcare The LUM Afterschool Program provides educational enrichment for children of the LUM clients, enabling their parents to finish their afternoon work knowing their children are in a safe and stimulating environ-ment. The children receive a nutritious snack, help with homework, religious education, arts, crafts, rec-reation and field trips.

Summer Camp Boys and girls, ages 8-10, enjoy one of the most memorable weeks of their lives in one of the finest overnight camping programs in Indiana. The children enjoy swimming, hiking, crafts, riding horses, learn-ing new skills and growing in confidence and self-esteem.

Jubilee Christmas LUM Jubilee Christmas helps local families be heroes with their children at Christmastime! LUM member churches host separate Jubilee Christmas sites where parents select new toys, clothing; and receive canned hams, food cards and gift certificates for their teens.

LUM offers a variety of volunteer opportuni-ties from regular long-term commitments to helping with special events. Whether helping with Hunger Hike or Jubilee Christmas, tu-toring children in the After School Program, helping run the Emergency Shelter, working in the office, or being a summer camp coun-selor, volunteers find their work at LUM to be exciting & rewarding.
