administration system in Denmark

The Region’s health assignments:

- Practices (GPs etc)

- 18 Hospitals

Practices- Free medical care at GPs

- Subsidy for medicin, dental care and treatment by chiropractors etc

- Medical travel insurance

Financing of Health- Block subsidy from the state: 75%

- Activity-specific payment from the state: 5%

- Basic contributions from the local authorities (EUR 130 – 200 per citizen)

- Local authority payment for services

The Region’s social assignments:

- 24-hour care for children and young people

- Sheltered employment and activity services

- Accommodation offers

- Secure facility for young criminals

- Fredericia School

- Nyborg School

Financing of social care

- Local authorities finance all costs via rate-based payment.

-The rates are defined in an annual framework agreement
