PROGRESSION II– EXERCISES 1-3

The purpose of these progressions is to help build your abilities in reading and responding to texts. These exercises will also allow you to build and discover ideas for your essay. The articles to be selected should be from our assigned readings for Essay # 2 from Envision in Depth and the class website. Due Date: These exercises are due on Formal Outline day for full credit and should be submitted as part of your final essay packet.

EXERCISE 1: Summary

Task:

Select an article that most interests you and summarize it.

Format:

Your summary should be a minimum of one double-spaced typed page.

EXERCISE 2: Observation

Task: Observe how people/a person engage with social media – what are they most interested in? Do they seem distracted? Changes in behavior?

Format:

Your summary should be a minimum of1-2 double-spaced typed page.

EXERCISE 3: Playing Both Sides

Task: Select a focus – social media. One page respond to the positive aspects and on the second the negative aspects of this focus.

Your summary should be a minimum of two double-spaced typed page
