An integral element of the planned works meant that existing glazing and panels were to be removed and replaced, with minimal disruption to the day to day running of the 4 star hotel. Old cladding was removed, and the façade restored using aluminium composite rainscreen, in metallic bronze and anthracite grey. An additional 70mm of insulation was installed to the external block work, improving the thermal performance of the building to reduce future running costs. The windows were replaced with Aluprof MB 70 HI tilt and turn, giving a U value of 1.4 W/mk; each was glazed with heat strengthened acoustic laminate to reduce outside noise by 47RW and ensure access to clean all external glass from inside the building. External doors were also replaced to blend with the new systems.
