First Step: students research about freshwater
1º step (classroom)
Identify the problem:
Fresh water limited
resources and their use
with lack of conservation Groups 3-4 students
search for in each country: •Fresh Water reserves and values
estimates of preserved water; •Spots of sewage water; •Places with measures to treat
sewage water; •Natural places with fresh water
preserved.
Publish the research
they made in several
different ways online
to be compared with
other places in the
world
Students decide
how they are
going to present
their research
(Blog, Video,
webpage, wiki,
PowerPoint
presentation).

Second Step: students research out of classroom
2º step (visit aquarium,
museum or zoo)
Identify who fresh water is
used in natural life and is
importance to be preserved
They learn in this visit thepreservation, recycling and
how to save the water in our
planet, they answer a
questionnaire about the use
of fresh water in our
environment.
They present the final
paper with the answers to
be classified and graded for
each group. According with
the good results, theyreceive materials to built a
water filter at school and a
amount of seed to grow
with the filtered water
they produce.
Students decide
what trail to do
and the bestinformation they
need to solve
the questions.

Third Step: students built the water filter and test
it with plants growth3º step (water filter and
seeds) C onstruct the water
filter according with the
research they have to
do in the Internet Groups of 3-4 students
build the filter and start
watering the seeds with
filtered water. The plant
growth is monitored
and registered by
students.
Students investigate how
to built the water filter
with materials they
received from the step 2
visit and assemble the
different parts with art
teacher help.Test the water filter and
start watering seeds,
measuring the amount of
water used and the
growing of plants.
Calculate the amount of
water filtered and the
rate of plants growth. The plants will be offered
to the institution visited
for continuing their
growth. The results will
be published online.
Students research and
decide the best way to
built the water filter
with the materials theyreceive and fill a
observation table. They
decide also what will be
the best way to publish
online their growing
seeds development.
Collaboration team: Science; math;
ICT and art teacher.
The schools and the institutionsinvolved in to this program will
be mapped on Bing Maps and
they will have some links were
they share the results of the
students research.

4º step (World game –
Water Frenzy) Each team of teachers in each
country gather all the created
quizzes for students andsubmit them to a data base to
create the world game with
interactive questions (like Hot
Potatoes quizzes).
The students that had sign in to
this program will participate in
the game trying to respond to
the questionnaire to learn not
only information from their
countries, but what happens in
other places.
Students play allthe activities onlinein an interactiveprogram called HotPotatoes. They canidentify the wronganswers, correcttheir mistakes.
The program give each
student a score and thedata base rank each one in
a list of better results. The
students became aware of
the need of freshwater
conservation with many
knowledge built and learn
the care of freshwater in
other countries.
Fourth Step:(World game – Water Frenzy)
Built with the assemblage of all quizzes
