Maslow's Need-Satisfaction Model • Physiological Needs

• Including needs for food, water, shelter, clothing, sex and air.

• Safety Needs• People need to be kept from both

physical harm (e.g. getting injured in a traffic accident. ) and economic disaster. (e.g. losing one’s job).

• Social Needs• People need companionship and

friendship. • Esteem Needs• Esteem needs include the need for

status and recognition, as well as the need of self-respect.

• Self-Actualization Needs• Once all such needs have been

satisfied, according to Maslow, the self-actualization needs become prominent.
