History of the Project
• Background research and collaboration: EPSRC project (UK) in heat transfer intensification (2009 – 2011)
• Initiated by UNIMAN, PIL and CALGAVIN mid 2009• PIL assumed coordinating role (mid 2009)• Submitted to FP7-SME-2010-1 (Dec 2009)• Invitation to commence contract negotiations
(March 2010)• Negotiations completed end September 2010• Project commenced 1 December 2010
Project Overview
Intensified Heat Transfer Technologiesfor Enhanced Heat Recovery - INTHEAT
Contract number: 262205
Starting date: 1 December 2010
Duration: 24 months
Project Objectives• Enhancing our understanding of heat exchange under
fouling • Technical innovation for heat transfer intensification for
heat recovery • Proposing new materials of improved economic and
environmental performance as heat transfer media (with focus on advanced heat exchanger with polymer materials
• Combining enhanced heat transfer innovative design with process integration to achieve the synergy of novel technologies
• Demonstration of applicability and economic-environmental benefit of novel heat-transfer enhancement techniques and the new design methods proposed
• Effective technology transfer to the wide range academic and industrial communities

Financial Guidelines
• Each SME (Contractor) should sign a sub-contracting agreement with RTD Partners (Sub-Contractors) who carry out the research work for them.
• The Coordinator will circulate draft sub-contracting agreement in next few days.
Financial GuidelinesSuggested distribution of sub-contracting payments
in line with the DoW’s Tables A3 and B3
1,050,000
Financial Guidelines
Will be circulated among Partners
Financial Guidelines
• The pre-finance has been sent to the Coordinator, but due to technical issues had to be sent back to REA. The pre-finance is due to arrive in January-February.
• Pre-finance has been EUR 635,250 which is 635,250 / 1155000 = 0.55 of the overall requested EU contribution. Hence the prepayment will be distributed proportionally to the total EU contribution to each partner
