PAVING CONSTRUCTION NOTES

1. Guidelines set forth in the "Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices"shall be observed.

2. All fill in existing or proposed right-of-way, including back dressing behindthe curb, shall be placed on maximum loose lifts of twelve (12) inches orless and compacted to 95% standard proctor density with a moisturecontent within ±2% of optimum.

3. Minimum pavement reinforcement requirement shall be Grade 60, No. 4rebar, spaced at 18-inch on center each way.

4. All pavement to be a minimum six (6) inches thick reinforced concrete unlessotherwise noted.

5. Paving expansion joints shall be placed at a maximum spacing of 40 feet - 6inches (40'-6").

6. All concrete used for pavement shall be a minimum of 5.0 sack of cementper cubic yard of concrete, 3500 psi compressive strength at 28 days.

7. Class "A" hydrated lime shall be applied for sub-grade stabilization.

8. For all concrete to be removed, a 2-inch deep saw cut shall be providedprior to removal.

9 . Representatives from the Owner and the testing laboratory shall be presentfor all gradations, density tests, lime operations and placement ofconcrete paving.

10. Under no circumstances shall water be added to a concrete load afterslump tests have been performed.

11. Blue reflectorize pavement markers shall be placed at fire hydrant locationsand offset 6 inches from the centerline of the roadway.

12. For all pavement widths: a. Minimum concrete slab thickness shall be 6 inches. b. Minimum stabilized sub-grade thickness shall be 6 inches.

13. See Geotechnical Engineering Report for pavement rebar spacing andother related criteria for paving construction.
