Project Manager Checklist
Approval Date: <mmm dd, yyyy>
Purpose of the Document
This document is used to choose appropriate deliverables to complete this project. The document has check boxes for the project sponsor and project manager to discuss and select to help the project manager know which deliverables are required and expected to successfully complete this project. This checklist is a means for ensuring inclusion of and collaboration from all appropriate DHS stakeholders required to deliver this project. Signature lines for the project sponsor and project manager are included to note who selected the deliverables and why certain deliverables were not selected to complete this project. The two right-most columns, labeled New Project Manager Transition Checklist, on the checklist are available for use by project manager newly assigned to an existing project to help the new project manager quickly assess the project needs and gain a quicker understanding of the project status.
Please reference the PMO Project Management Process Guide to gain an understanding of DHS-Project Management Office (PMO) project management methodology.

In file on the menu go to properties and in the summary folder enter the document title and author (person or group).
Templates’ (deliverables’) links under the process areas of this checklist could be changed to open the project’s deliverables within the project’s directory library on the shared drive.
Project manager should meet with project sponsor to complete this checklist and determine which deliverables will be required for the project.
After documenting which deliverables are required for the project, the project sponsor and project manager signoff to set project performance standards & project expectations and ensure intraoffice coordination & collaboration occurs to increase project success. The signoff will also help a project
manager newly assigned to an existing project know who to go to for questions concerning this project.
