PROJECT SUMMARY
Construction of approximately 330 kilometres of heavy haul rail formation and drainage between the Roy Hill Mine site and Port Hedland.
Together with sidings, level crossing and associated works, overall materials moved was approximately 10.5 million cubic metres, of which over 3 million cubic metres was rock. The scope included in excess of 36 kilometres of culverts. Preliminary construction commenced in September 2013, the rail formation was progressively handed over with the final section completed in April 2015.
At its peak, the project employed a workforce of up to 1,650 personnel and utilise approximately 800 items of earthmoving plant.
