    Course Description

    Project Analysis and Management acquaint students with the various sources of project ideas and

    the techniques and procedures for gathering and analyzing the basic information about a project

    and determining its feasibility. Besides, it explains the techniques to be employed for project

    planning, scheduling, and controlling and discusses the various aspects of project management

    that are concerned with proper implementation and successfully completion of a project.

    Major topics covered in the course include definition and types of projects, project live cycle

    models, project identification, project evaluation and analysis (feasibility study) project financing

    and appraisal, and project implementation and monitoring (project management).

    Course Objectives

    The objective of this course is to equip students with skills and techniques of project planning,

    analysis, management and evaluation, which are especially important in decision making process

    of all development programs.

    Methodology

    The course will be delivered in ways that facilitate students understanding and confidence in matters

    related with Project Analysis concepts and applications, it includes lecture by the instructor and group

    discussions and presentations by the students. More over, one group assignment will be given at the end

    of the fourth chapter and is to be submitted and presented in class during the1st and 2nd week of June

    respectively. The assignment requires students to generate their own project idea and prepare project

    plan (feasibility study). Besides, students are required to walk through different materials and supplement

    their understandings.

    Two tests will be conducted up on completion of the 2nd and 4th chapters.

    The Final Exam will be conducted at the end of the semester as per the schedule of the college and it will

    cover all the chapters but focussing more on chapter 3, 4, 5, and 6.

    Course Policy

    According to article 84 of the universitys legislation, in situation where a student because of reasons

    beyond his control fails to attend all sessions, a minimum of 85% attendance is required if he/she is to

    earn credit in a given course. Accordingly, a student who has missed more than 15% attendance will be

    given grade of I (incomplete). Besides, lateness of more than five minutes will not be tolerable.

    Attendance will be taken regularly and students who fail to attend exams and submit exercises and

    assignments will earn a grade of I unless for a justifiable reason.
