DZ Senior High School• Last year, some people commented that our uniforms are the best in

Taipei city’s high schools and they made us look like aristocratic school.• The last picture is girls’ uniform.• Look at the skirt. • It’s very different from other schools. • It’s checker styled alternation with the colors of white, black, and gray.• The three colors each symbolized different meanings.• The white symbolizes clean, pure and sacred.• The black symbolizes hush and serious.• The gray symbolizes gentle, modest and temperance.• Look at the shirt.• The most special part is the round neckband.• It brings the feelings of quality and elegance, right ?• And it makes our girls look absolutely lovely.

Chien-kuo High School---introduced by 芝凡

• In the earlier stage, in Chien-Kuo High School’s playground, it looked like desert without any green plants. When the wind blew, the people might feel like they lived in desert. So the students of Chien-Kuo High school always call themselves as a “camel rider”. It means that people who lived in a desert and make a living with camels. And the students also give their school another name ”Camel City”. That means a city with camels. This is the origin story of their uniform design.

Taipei Chenggong High SchoolNext to be presented is this classic uniform right in front of your eyes. Currently, the school uniforms include the school attire and the gym suit. During the early days, all the school uniforms in Taiwan were “military training uniforms,” which were abandoned in the 1980s first by The Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University and Taipei Chenggong High School. Through school-wide voting in 1989, students of Taipei Chenggong High School chose their new uniform out of several candidate attires. This business-suit-like uniform has been in use since then. The acts of the two schools inspired many of those that used khaki uniforms to look for changes. The school uniform today consists of a white shirt, a pair of black trousers, and a black sweater. The outfit includes a black suit jacket and a necktie. The entire design has won the hearts of numerous Taipei Chenggong High School students and alumni, as well as many outsiders. Many junior high students have made Taipei Chenggong High School their dream school because of this school uniform.

According to the internet, the reason why uniforms of Jingmei High School are colored yellow is because they want to have some differences between other girl high school, which were founded during Japanese Occupied Era, and themselves. They adopted yellow uniform to express their originality. Actually when it’s in 1960, the yellow uniforms are stand out from the masses, and that’s what they want to emphasized---originality. The purpose of Jingmei High School is to cultivate an independent woman in modern age, just like the early principal has said.

• And Jingmei High School was called “Solar State”. I think that’s because the color of their uniform also symbolized the yellow sun. However, another saying is the first principal chose yellow color in hoping her students will be as noble as the Emperor of ancient China who always wears yellow gown.
