Project Tracking & Time Entry using salesforce.com

A new easy to use project management tool for utilizing VisualForce

We think there’s got to be a better way…

• In our opinion, most of the Project Management and Tracking tools out there are too complicated and tough to use for most PS firms – believe us – we are one!

• Microsoft Project Web Server is expensive and incredibly complex – Dream Factory is slow and cumbersome, QuickArrow is too big and too complicated to easily learn, and Appirio takes more time to set up than it does to use!

• We’ve approached the PS tracking problem with a new vision of what SHOULD be required to track projects, schedule resources and manage time entry. Think about it as a Project Management tool for the rest of us

Easy to use – Easy to create Projects

• Using salesforce.com® Easy to implement custom object functionality, we can quickly build a project object that your customer will understand and like. Notice ours? Lots of specifics around salesforce.com® projects. We could replicate this for any type of consulting or services based firm.

Projects created from Opportunities – in one click

• And of course, an easy one click interface creates a project (and pulls subsequent data) from an Opportunity to a Project – making it EASY to go from Opportunity to Project in one click.

From a Project, create a Resource Forecast in one easy step

• One of the big problems is forecasting utilization and understanding which resources are (or WILL BE ) busy at a given time. We’ve made this easy to understand with our Schedule Entry function

Our Online Calculation shows potential issues with over-utilization

• We wanted to build a system that quickly identified potential over-scheduling. Our solution? Color code potential hour conflicts right on the schedule entry screen.

Quickly submit a schedule and then check the results

• We then built dashboards to quickly review the entries, and visually SEE if someone is over-allocated

And Schedules can be “weighed” easily – just by using the Probability on the Opp

• A Huge Opportunity is only 20% likely to close? Just count the allocation of the schedule 20%. This way you can “fudge” allocation of resources and update as the Opportunity updates – automatically.

Time Entry is a Breeze as well

• We think that consultants should work, not administrate. To that end, we’ve made our Time Entry function as simple as the rest of salesforce.com®. Just click on a date, click on the project, click on the milestone and go. Want to clone last week since you’re doing the same thing? No problem. All in a one click environment.
