NYS Route 198 (Scajaquada Expressway) Corridor I-190 to NYS Route 33 P.I.N. 5470.22 NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Stakeholder Group Tour: September 13, 2007 I-190 Ramps to Grant Street Issues, Facts, and Points of Interest: The City of Buffalo’s 2005 Expanded Project Proposal recommended that future studies of the Scajaquada Expressway extend up to, but not include, the I-190 ramps. The Black Rock tolls were removed by the New York State Thruway Authority on I-190 on October 30 th , 2006. In 2007, the toll barriers were physically removed. The effect of these changes on traffic patterns along NYS Route 198 are currently under study. The outlet of Scajaquada Creek was the site of multiple skirmishes during the War of 1812. A new connection to the Scajaquada Pathway was recently completed at West Avenue, providing a continuous link for pedestrians and bicyclists from this point to Delaware Park.
