Training of young volunteers for the organized helping and rescue actions Applicant: Providence Association – Transylvania Rescue Team – Dávid Ferenc Youth Association (Transylvania) They organized a voluntary work camp for young people with 22 participants from Monday 9 July to Sunday 15 July. In this camp the youth helped the people in need (mostly old persons who live alone). The volunteers helped every day other families or congregations. Parallel with these activity the volunteer’s group was involved in religious and community programs. They also organized some voluntary works in Szind and in Kolozsvár.

Projects financed by Unitarian Community Fund in progress

Project 2. Handicraft experience workshop  Applicant: Pottery Association (Corund) They organized  a  lot of different  voluntary works  collaborating with  their partners  and did  the following activities: 

cleaning the garage where will take place the experience workshop, 

painting the garage, 

introducing the water system in this building, 

renovating two szekler gates which they got in donation, 

they bought an electric pottery wheel. In the recent past they used it for handicraft activities learning children in the yard.

Project 3. Football field for the village!  Applicant: “Pro Tineret Derzs‐Darjiu” Foundation (Darjiu) Till now they organized two volunteer works. At the first meeting they prepared willow stakes and transported them to the location. After this they pushed these stakes in the ground to stabilize it. The  Compossesorate  (forest  owner’s  association)  helped  the  association  in  this  work  with  a bulldoexcavator.  The registration of the sport association  is finished; they could start  in the rural championship at this autumn. The next step is to organize another volunteer work to put the stakes in the ground for the fence.

Project 4. Playground for everyone  Applicant: Gálfi Sándor Association (Cobatesti) They cleaned the place where will be the playground. After this they brought wood from the forest than prepared them into the swing material. They also ordered the toys for the playground.     Project 5. The rebirth of drying fruits  Applicant: Pro Kenos Association (Chinusu) They decided  in a community meeting where to create the  fruit processing unit. The acquisition process of the needed materials and their transportation to the location is started.   Project 6. Trainings for the local youth Applicant: Pro Gyepes Association (Ghipes) There  took  place  a  lot  of  preparatory  work  like:  ordering  the  traditional  furniture  and  the beehives;  they bought  the stove,  the  loom and  the yarn  for hand  loom weaving, other weaving materials, the beekeeping equipment, books for the training. They already started the first training (beekeeping). The other trainings will started in the next weeks.

Project 7. Adult education for the persistency. Evoking the past – producing value – planning the future.  Applicant: Firtos`s Horse ‐ Awakening Providence Association (Firtusu) They bought  the needed materials and  tools. The data collection and  the questionnaires editing and the communication with the lecturers is started.  The  next  step  is  to  prepare  the  places  for  the  trainings.  The  first meeting  is  scheduled  for  5th August.   Project 8. Meeting and training for the Romanian community assistants Applicant: Romanian Community Assistants Association (Craciunel) Their  national meeting  and  training  for  community  assistants will  be  kept  in  September.  They planned the organization works in August.   Project 9. Furnishing the community house and increasing its tool Applicant: Providence Association (Rares) They finished the ceramic tiling in the kitchen and in the bathroom; they finished also the parquet flooring  in  a  room.  The  community  house’s windows were  repainted with  volunteer workers. A room  and  the  kitchen  is  furnished,  there  are  two  rooms  which  needed  to  be  furnished. They plan to clean and finish the furnishing by community work. The opening ceremony of the renewed community house will take place on 28 July 2012.

 Project 10. Rural life in a beautiful, organized, informing environment Applicant: Ittre Benced Foundation (Bentid) The project started with a successful community meeting where  they decided where  to put  the benches,  the  informative  boards  and  the  szekler  gate.  There  took  place  also  the  planning  of volunteer works. The works with  the  szekler gate,  the  informative boards,  the benches and  the church’s fence are started. They want to finish the project till August 19th when will be organized the 2nd Village Meeting of Bentid.

Project 11. Community development for children and youth Applicant: Sekler Brass Band Association of Csekefalva (Cechesti) The planning works are in progress.

Project 12. Renovation of the community house Applicant: “Eden 75” Association (Cheia) The youth group of the congregation cleaned the house and prepared  it to the next works. After this they installed the electric system in the house, finished plastering the community hall and the kitchen and they also finished the floor leveling. Then they prepared the rooms for painting.

Project 13. Together for the community through the tradition Applicant: Unitarcoop Foundation (Icland) They  had  a  meeting  where  they  planned  the  main  activities  of  the  project.  They  organized trainings  with  local  tradition  topic.  There  were  some  elder  women  who  talked  about  their traditional activities. After this they organized a presentation about the traditional decorative arts.

Project 14. Partial renovation of the community house Applicant: Firtos`s Horse ‐ Awakening Providence Association (Medisoru Mare) They had a meeting with the congregation’s board members where they discussed the details of the project’s activities. The acquisition of  the building materials  is  in progress. They organized a meeting  with  the  congregation’s  board  members  and  decided  about  the  details  of  the  next activity.   Project 15. Developing the community place Applicant: Viharsarok Association (Mujna) They bought the tables, chairs and furniture for the kitchen. After this they kept a meeting with the competent persons to decide the next step.
