object distance. By using a monolithic voltage-to-frequency (V/F) converter, the
DC voltage from the sensor is converted into an AC frequency that produces an
audible frequency of chirps in two small headphones. The larger the DC voltage
input into the V/F converter, the higher the frequency of chirps output. The result

temperature data logger device with real-time clock chip and an SD card for the
storage of very large amount of data. One of the nice features of the device is that
it is based on the 1-Wire bus where a large number of temperature sensors can all
be connected on the same bus.
A battery-operated RTC chip keeps the real-time clock information
and the temperature is written on the SD card with real-time clock stamp.
79. Intelligent traffic lights based on RFID Traffic management is the critical issue of the road. Traffic lights play an
important role in the traffic management. The existing traffic lights follow the
predetermined sequence. So these lights are called static traffic lights. These
traffic lights are not capable to count the number of vehicles and the priority of
the vehicles on intersection point. As a result some vehicles have to wait even
there is no traffic on the other side. The vehicles like Ambulance and Fire Brigade
are also stuck in traffic and waste their valuable time. The proposed system
provides quality of service to Emergency vehicles and improves the accuracy of
Automatic Traffic Light Violation Detection system as well as helps to trace out the
stolen vehicles using RFID.
80. Accelerometer control of an industrial robotic arm
In this paper is proposed an accelerometer-based system to control an industrial
robot using two low-cost and small 3-axis wireless accelerometers. These
accelerometers are attached to the human arms, capturing its behavior (gestures
and postures). An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) trained with a back-
propagation algorithm was used to recognize arm gestures and postures, which
then will be used as input in the control of the robot. The aim is that the robot
starts the movement almost at the same time as the user starts to perform a
gesture or posture (low response time). The results show that the system allows
the control of an industrial robot in an intuitive way.
81. Design of solar tracker system for PV power plants
This paper deals with the design and execution of a solar tracker system dedicated
to the PV conversion panels. The proposed single axis solar tracker device ensures
the optimization of the conversion of solar energy into electricity by properly
orienting the PV panel in accordance with the real position of the sun. The
operation of the experimental model of the device is based on a DC motor
intelligently controlled by a dedicated drive unit that moves a mini PV panel
according to the signals received from two simple but efficient light sensors. The
performance and characteristics of the solar tracker are experimentally analyzed.
82. GSM Bluetooth based remote monitoring and control system with automatic light control
This paper gives a review of these systems based on existing technologies and
also proposes a GSM-Bluetooth based light controller and remote monitoring
system. This system has simple features designed with the objective of minimum
power consumption using infrared sensor for controlling lights, fans and other
appliances which are controlled via SMS using a GSM module.
83. Communication between mobile robot and PC controller based on X-BEE network
Mobile robots using Zigbee protocol for the purpose of navigation using personal
computer, implemented with wireless vision system for remote monitoring and
control. Its main feature is its use of the Zigbee protocol as the communication
medium between the mobile robot and the PC controller. The system provides
continuous visual monitoring through the small camera attached to the mobile
robot, sending data to the control unit when necessary.
84. Adaptive traffic signal control system using camera
sensor and embedded system
Adaptive traffic signal control system is needed to avoid traffic congestion that
has many disadvantages. This paper presents an adaptive traffic signal control
system using camera as an input sensor that providing real-time traffic data.
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to analyze and to classify object on
video frame for detecting vehicles. Distributed Constraint Satisfaction Problem
(DCSP) method determine the duration of each traffic signal, based on counted
number of vehicles at each lane. The system is implemented in embedded systems
using Beagle Board
