site

The objective of the project was to design a prototype-prefabricated module of a residential structure than canbe located through out the world.The residence was designed based on the client pro�le each student created. Eachstudent de�ned his or her own theoreticalprogram.

The site we were given was not speci�ed because it is meant to accommodate and be part of the earth. Although thedimensions of the site were crucial, the residence could notexceed a 25’ x 100’ boundary with a 30’ rear yard setback.

possibilitiesWe were allowed the �exibliity of using multiple shipping containers. We were toeither use (3) 40’ and (1) 20’ or (7) 20’ or (3) 20’ and (2) 40’ or (5) 20’ and (1) 40’ long shipping containers to create the residence.

project descriptionThe objective of the project was to develop a verticalmeans of circulation from the street level to the Highline.The structure was meant to act as a landmark for thelocal area. In the lower level of the structure we had todesign a information/tourist center, while on the upperlevel of the structure had to be directly connected tothe Highline. On the upper section we had to provide a snack bar and two handicapped toilets. The total foot-print of the structure could not have exceeded 2500sq.ft.

siteThe site we were given was a triangular site that is boundedby the Highline,tenth Ave, and 17th and 18th st located inNew York City, New York.

project descriptionThe objective of the project was to design a residential building that accomadates the site given.The site has two di�erent types of zoning that allowed only one side of the site to build up to 40’and the other side was allowed a build of 120’.
