The term ‘’green line’’ is used to refer

to the 1949 armistice line established

between Israel and its neighboring

countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and

Syria) after the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.

Since the 1993 Declaration of Principles,

which resulted from the Oslo peace

process, there have been several

handovers of land to differing degrees

of Palestinian civil and security control.

The designations employed and the preparation of materials on this map do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the Food and Agriculture Organization

of the United Nations (FAO) concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area or its authorities or concerning the delimitation of its authorities or concerning the

delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries.
