Promoting health for the last 111 years

Dr. Hans Rosemann, the inventor and founder of Lysoform, made it his goal to limit health risks by preventing the spread of illness and disease. Today, Lysoform is a world-famous brand name for disin-fectants and remains a family-run business.

Preventing infection by means of disinfection, antisepsis, and killing, inhibiting and deactivating microorganisms is a basic medical requirement. This naturally represents a huge responsibility for ma-nufacturers of such products, and Lysoform has stepped up to meet this challenge since it was founded in 1900. On top of that, Lysoform continues to offer practical, state-of-the-art solutions through conti-nual development, high quality standards and application-oriented consulting services.

Lysoform’s philosophy, which combines both tradition and modernity, has always embraced ethical standards and the company manufac-tures its products with an eye to remaining as ecofriendly as possible.

History of a successful business

1900: Dr. Hans Rosemann and Alfred Stephan register a patent for a disinfectant they developed together. In the same year, Dr. Rosemann establishes “Lysoform”, which is named after the disinfectant. The Lysoform name quickly becomes a global household brand synonymous with disinfectant.

1914: Dr. Rosemann passes away during World War I. His daughter inherits the business.

1917: The husband of Dr. Rosemann’s daughter, Dr. Walter Heilgendorff, assumes management of the business.

1945: Dr. Walter Heilgendorff passes away. The company suffers large losses during World War II. His daughters inherit the business.

1950: The husbands of Dr. Walter Heilgendorff‘s daughters, Heinz Kuckei and Dr. Johannes Rödger, become the company’s managing directors. Among other operations, they create a successful organisa-tion aimed at selling the company’s products directly to hospitals and clinics. Dr. Rödger is highly respected and acclaimed for his disinfec-tant research.

1966: The company moves to new larger premises, which then have to be doubled in size a few years later. 1984: Dr. Rödger passes away, and four years later Heinz Kuckei withdraws from the business.

1982 to present: The founder’s great-grandson, Dr. Hans-Joachim Rödger, doctor of microbiology and bacteriology, takes over as managing director at Lysoform.

Designed to be effective

Lysoform, the company’s first-ever product, is still a major success 110 years later, thanks to its excellent basic disinfectant qualities that have been refined time and again to meet current requirements.

The entire portfolio is subject to continual development based on technical progress and changing requirements, and is a sign of Lysoform’s dedication to supply effectively designed products all over the world. This credo always takes priority over price, and the company has never sought to chase passing trends by sticking to its philosophy of supplying approved and accredited products.

Lysoform can only supply highly effective products if they are of top quality, and our customers rely on that in order to comply with the necessary hygiene standards. The key factor in achieving this, is our highly qualified and motivated team which has built up vast experti-se over many years and combines this by repeatedly coming up with product innovations.

Lysoform holds a number of permits and certifications from issuing bodies to prove that the company and its staff meet all of the required quality standards. Lysoform is MEDCERT certified, DIN EN ISO 13485 certified, DIN EN ISO 9001/ISO 13485 certified, and meets all of the requirements set out in European Council directive 93/42/EEC concerning medical devices. The company also adheres to the German Medicinal Products Act (AMG), the German Medical Devices Act (MPG), and the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Global presence

When Dr. Hans Rosemann introduced Lysoform on the German market, it was an instant hit that quickly spread throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia, Asia and Africa because of its excellent disinfection qualities.

The company has always had a global presence despite losing a number of its international markets due to World War II. Lysoform is again becoming a global player thanks to its close cooperation with the Swiss companies Lysoform Desinfektion AG (Glarus) and Lysoform Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Antisepsie AG (Brugg).

Lysoform Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Antisepsie AG is based in Brugg and only operates in the Swiss market, but Lysoform Desinfek-tion AG from Glarus has operations in Belgium, Austria, Greece, Spain, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazak-hstan, China, the Philippines, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, India, and various other countries.

There are also a number of Lysoform companies who operate inde-pendently and manufacture their own product ranges in Austria, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Brazil with whom Lysoform maintains regular contact in order to share expertise and experience.
