As you can see from this slide, the tackling of health inequities is at the centre of the H2020 Policy Framework. In particular, public health services are a priority for us because they are essential in protecting and promoting health and preventing disease. Therefore, the framework for action will be complementary to Health 2020 and will be presented to the Member States at the Regional Committee in 2012.

I need to add that, in additon to the Euroopean Review on the SDH and the H Divide, H2020 has been infomed by a number of other scientific study. Here it is important to mention the study on the need to strengthen the Governance for Health at all levels of policy-making. This means to increase coherence for health and wellbeing in all policies and create better equity conditions for health. We see the two reports complementing each other, and essential for addressing health inequalities in a systematic manner as pursued by H2020.
